(S02E18) They don't do much in the way of developing the big mysteries, but I do like it when the
Supernatural team takes time out to have some fun. Such was the case this week with "Hollywood Babylon." If it was the overall style of the show, I don't think it would work nearly as well. But as an every once in a while thing, these tongue-in-cheek, laugh at yourself, episodes are a fun diversion from the norm. Although, I would have preferred to see this one and "Tall Tales" separated a little more on the schedule.

Following Reno 911! and the canceled Dog Bites Man comes yet another improvised comedy series for Comedy Central: Halfway Home. The new series stars Oscar Nunez, Jordan Black, Kevin Ruf, Regan Burns, Jessica Makinson and Octavia Spencer as residents of a halfway house who are trying to straighten themselves out, and not doing a very good job of it. Nunez and Ruf also serve as executive producers.

There is nothing better than television shows featuring truckers
and ex-cons. Sometimes they are one in the same. Comedy Central agrees with this statement and this is why they
have picked up two new comedies; one with truckers and one with ex-cons.
Halfway Home involves the
ex-cons. The show will star Oscar Nunez (The Office) as one of a group of ex-cons who try to make the move
from prison life back into society. The show will be executive produced by Nunez and Jay Martel (Strangers With
Candy). As with shows like Sons & Daughters and Free Ride, this show will be partially
improvised.
Naked Trucker and T-Bones will involve the truckers, who will hopefully not be naked. This
six-episode variety series will feature Trucker (Dave Allen, Freaks and Geeks) and his partner T-Bones
(Anchorman's David Koechner) at different truck stops around the country. While stopping, they'll
partake in some of the fine trucker cuisine and riff on life on the road with those they meet.
