David Carradine on FOX's Mental this week
I'm wondering if David Carradine's guest role on this tomorrow's Mental will be met with controversy. Is it exploitative to air this episode so soon after his death? A tribute? Should they shelve it forever? Here's a sneak peek of the episode.
Emilio Estevez to visit bro Charlie on Two and a Half Men
When family members appear on each other's TV shows -- if they're a show biz family, of course -- sometimes the results are great. And sometimes they're not. Jerry Van Dyke appeared twice on The Dick Van Dyke Show as Rob's brother Stacey, and he was terrific. (Much better than he was on My Mother The Car).Tyne Daly popped up on Wings, playing scenes with her brother Tim, and again, it worked out great. On the other hand, when Martin Sheen guested on Two and a Half Men in 2005, it was a dud. I don't know, maybe comedy really isn't Martin Sheen's forte.
Fortunately, Charlie Sheen isn't above trying again. Charlie's brother Emilio Estevez is going to do a guest turn on Two and a Half Men in an upcoming episode. They won't be playing brothers, but Emilio will be one of Charlie's best buddies from times gone by.

Forest Whitaker to guest on ER
Say what you will about ER, but it's still able to attract a pretty good roster of actors to guest star on the show, either in a one-shot deal or in a multi-episode arc. This year, in its 13th season, one of the guest starts will be Forest Whitaker, who has been cast as a carpenter who comes in with an innocuous cough, but ends up being paralyzed by a stroke. His stint will be five episodes. The role was originally going to be played by Andre Braugher, but he had to pull out due to the age-old "scheduling conflict."Remember that Whitaker played a big role in The Shield last season, and the show left the door open for his character to return. So this year might be a big TV year for Forest.
Anna Devane coming back to Port Charles
As part of May sweeps, actress Finola Hughes will be reprising her role as Anna
Devane (or, if you will, Anna Devane Scorpio Lavery Scorpio Hayward) on General Hospital. Hughes was
originally on the soap opera in the 1980s, and left the show in 1992 before taking the role to All My Children
in the late 90s. She currently hosts How Do I Look? on the Style Network. I don't watch soap operas, but I do
remember the character of Anna since my mom watched General Hospital pretty religiously. Hughes won Emmys for
her role as Anna on both General Hospital and All My Children, although she also won a Razzie for her
role in the movie Staying Alive. I'm not sure if the awards cancel each other out or not. Hughes has also
been in numerous guest roles on shows such as Charmed and Tracey Takes On.... She's set to make her
return to Port Charles on May 12.
