If you liked Greg The Bunny, MTV has another show for you

Greg The BunnyGreg The Bunny, first on IFC and then FOX for a season and then on IFC for a short time again, is one of those shows where, if you mention it to a group of 15 people, 14 will probably look at you like you have half a head and the other person will either nod that they remember the show but never watched it or they'll nod and say "oh yeah! That was a good show." It was an acquired taste (anything with puppets is, right?), but a lot of people really miss it.

Well, there's actually a spinoff to the show in the works. That's right, a spinoff.

The original creators are getting together with MTV for the new show Warren The Ape. The plot will find Warren depressed and broke after Greg The Bunny ended, so MTV approaches him to do a reality show about his life.

Henson company aims for puppet primetime

Puppet UpA few months ago, we brought you news of the Jim Henson Company's late night television project and partnership with TBS. More news has come to light regarding this and two other projects in development over at Henson headquarters in Hollywood.

On November 20th, TBS will be airing a taped performance of the Henson gang performing improvised, uncensored comedy at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival. This isn't the warm and wacky Muppet comedy of yore. Puppet Up! Uncensored! is blue comedy developed by a whole new team of writers and performers looking to bring a fresh voice and renewed primetime supremacy to the Henson name. In addition to the improv performance, TBS has ordered up 30 episodes of Uncensored for its forthcoming broadband channel and remains in negotiations over the semi-improvised late night talk show project.

I'm suffering from the post-upfront blahs

Count Blah from Greg the BunnyThis time of year is intense, isn't it? Between all the season finales, all the series finales, and the network upfronts, it's a wonder that people who love TV, and the people who write about TV, get any sleep at all. Heck, we even got a Presidential address thrown in for good measure. It's like we're accountants and it's the two weeks leading up to April 15; lots of late nights, emotional outbursts, and severe negotiations, leaving us emotionally exhausted.

But it's just about over. Even as it is, I feel like I'm coming down from the high. Why? Because the upfronts are over; all five networks have given us a look at their fall schedules, and we finally get to find out what's in and what's out (good news for Veronica Mars fans, bad news for Invasion fans). So right now I'm just feeling a bit spent. And completely uncreative. I couldn't think of one thing to write today because of it. If anyone has any ideas for me to get my mojo back, let me know in the comments.

(By the way, the picture is of Count Blah from Greg The Bunny. Best way I could represent the concept of blah. Blah.)
