Futurama has gone through more frustrating cancellations than a United Airlines flight leaving Chicago's O'Hare Airport. No one knows that better than voice actor
Billy West and actress
Katey Sagal who respectively provide the voice, heart and soul of the show's two main characters, Fry and Leela.
But what has kept the show going is the camaraderie of the cast and crew. Everyone from the show still keep in touch in between other jobs and even have the occasional reunion from their regular crowded visits at ComicCon to smaller get togethers like when Katey said the cast got together to watch her last concert at the
MBar in Hollywood.
Most of all, they said they have the fans to thank for their next big reunion when
Futurama goes back into production. They both took a short time out of their busy schedules to chat about Comedy Central's two season order.

If you thought
Futurama had nowhere to go after the climatic series-long ending with
Into the Wild Green Yonder (and notice I'm not revealing what that ending is so you spoiler-hating surprise junkies don't lose your half-daily hit of whahuh?!?), think again.
Futurama's executive producer David X. Cohen talked to
Wired Magazine's Underwire blog about just what lies ahead for the
new Comedy Central episodes.
The good news is Cohen seems to be brimming with more crazy ideas than a Hardee's product development retreat, but he doesn't reveal anything too specific in terms of what Fry, Leela and Bender will be doing in the episodes to come.

What was once just internet gossip that spread across the web like a persistent skin rash has now become confirmed fact.
20th Century Fox and Comedy Central are not only reviving
Futurama, but they want double the initial number of episodes that
Collider.com reported meaning fans can look forward to 26 new episodes the sci-fi comedy series around the middle of 2010.
Variety also reports that actors Billy West, Katey Sagal and John DiMaggio have also signed up to once again provide the voices for Fry, Leela and Bender. I believe that sound you just heard was the universe being ripped open by this awesome time loop.

Have you grown tired of bad TV news? And by bad TV news, I mean bad news about television shows. Bad "TV news" is redundant.
Well, get ready for some good news. No wait, get ready for some great news. No, great doesn't really describe it. Here is some grantasticularly wondergasmiclicious news! (And my 12th grade English teacher said I'd never amount to anything as a writer.)
Comedy Central has ordered all brand new episodes of
Futurama, and the show has officially gone back into production.

Comedy Central is
adding a number of shows to its schedule for the upcoming fall season. One of the network's more interesting projects comes from former
Simpsons writer David Stern, who also worked on
Monk and
The Wonder Years.
Stern's
new animated comedy, Ugly Americans, is being billed as a spinoff of the ComedyCentral.com animated series
5 On.
Ugly Americans is set in a very different New York City where humans co-exist with aliens and robots.
I know, I think it sounds a bit like
Futurama too. But here's the difference. Unlike
Futurama, Ugly Americans is about a NYC social worker at the Department of immigration who helps immigrants, from outer space and from other countries, adjust to life in the U.S.

Would I date a homicidal robot? Do I find a one-eyed cartoon mutant attractive? Is kissing a sexy demon worth losing years of my life?
Those were some of the questions I had to ask myself while writing this list.
There are many non-human women on TV – demons, vampires, machines and
Real Housewives – but not all of them are hot. And what makes someone hot? I side with Stanley from
The Office who once said that a "hot" woman is healthy, sexy, pretty and strong. I'd also say that brains, maturity and passion should be in the mix -- even if that passion is for killing monsters or blowing up evil cyborgs. Click through for a list of the hottest robots, aliens and "abnormals" currently on TV.

Here are the new TV DVDs, in stores tomorrow.Let's do something different this week. Which of these DVDs do you plan on buying? Let us know in the comments section.
I can't imagine buying any of these shows. The only two I might be interested in are
Just Shoot Me (though I think it's one of those shows I'm happy just to see in reruns and not actually own) and
Make Room For Daddy. But I would buy that just because it's a classic show, not because it's one of my favorites. It's one of those classic shows that I just never got into, unlike
I Love Lucy or
The Dick Van Dyke Show or
The Honeymooners.

For those of you lucky enough to catch the screening of
Futurama's final direct-to-DVD adventure for the foreseeable future,
Into The Wild Green Yonder, at the
New York Comic Con (like me), then you already know how awesome this movie is and don't need to read any further. For the rest, this review is for you.
The story begins with Leo Wong, wealthy entrepreneur and father of Amy, who is trying to build a bigger and better Mars Vegas. This would include an interplanetary golf course that uses a black hole as one of its, er, holes. Over time, we learn that he's trying to destroy a planetoid that is growing indigenous life at an accelerated rate in order to build this.

If there is one thing in this crazy, mixed-up world that all human beings have in common, it's that we are creatures of habit. There are just some things that we do on a daily basis in order to maintain continuity and stay somewhat sane. It may be a certain morning routine, something you do at the beginning of each work day, or a particular domesticated animal that you burn during your sacrifice to the god Nomchakatu. No matter what it is, your day can go askew if you don't indulge in your particular habit or ritual.
One of these habits, which has been ingrained into many of us, is watching a particular show or shows right before we go to bed. Since the first grainy, black and white image was broadcast into the first home, millions have tuned into one show or another as a calming ritual before they go to sleep. In the very beginning, it may have been their local newscast or The Tonight Show. Now, with so many choices, what viewers watch before they pull the covers over their heads is nearly endless.

The fourth and final
Futurama direct-to-DVD movie now has
a title and a release date.
Into The Wild Green Yonder will be released on February 24, 2009.
Reading the synopsis from the press release, it sounds good. The plot sounds a little haphazard, but I think you'd say the same thing reading a synopsis of the plots from any of the DVD movies. One can only hope that this will not be the last we see of the Planet Express gang, but if it is, I hope they are sent off with the respect and dignity they deserve (provided we don't count Fry and Bender).
I really loved
Bender's Big Score . I liked but didn't love
The Beast With A Billion Backs. I caught
Bender's Game, which on my likability scale was between the first and second movies. I'm hoping to really love this fourth one. At the very least, at least they've dropped their penchant of using the letter "B" in the title.

I'm sure at one point or another in every little kid's life, he or she has wanted to have a robot BFF. All the potential for wacky fun and scientific misadventures would make up for the inevitable human/binary language barrier, and, when I think about it, I still totally want a robot buddy. I mean, from my time on this Earth, of two things I am sure: Lists are fun and robots are awesome. So, despite the fact that my age numerically suggests I shouldn't be thinking about this sort of stuff, I am all over this list.
I should also note that, upon completion of this depressingly nerdy post, I am legally obligated to punch myself in the face for a solid fifteen minutes and then steal my own lunch money. Let's just get this over with, shall we? Here are the top eleven robot buddies from TV, in no particular order, because each robot is special in its own way. Also, I don't want any readers to kill me for not ranking to their liking.

Geez, for a show that was recently canceled there is sure a lot of news about it. First, we heard that King of the Hill was being canceled by FOX at the end of this season (though it will probably remain on the schedule through 2010 because of long-term production of episodes). Then, the lovely and talented Bob Sassone reported that the show could be picked up by ABC, who seems to be in the market for other network programs as of late. Now comes word that repeats (is that term now taboo?) of the Mike Judge series will be heading to Adult Swim's lineup.
That's right. Cartoon Network's older brother will be picking up the 11-year-old program, making it the next-to-last FOX animated series to air on its program schedule (The Simpsons would be the last, and I have no idea if it will ever make it to Adult Swim).

Here are the new TV DVDs, in stores tomorrow.I'm getting that deja vu feeling. Didn't I already list season two of

It looks like the Fox "Animation Domination" lineup will be changing. It took FOX long enough to put together a solid two hour block of animated cartoons on Sunday, but now comes word that the tides are a-changing. After thirteen years on the air,
King of the Hill will wrap production at the end of this season. Of course, there will be new episodes in the can for airing even into next season. Not to mention that this isn't the first time
Hill has been canceled, and ratings now are better than they were then. In fact, executive producer John Altschuler said, "It would be very odd for
King of the Hill to not keep going."
At the same time, Seth MacFarlane's "other" show
American Dad, has just been picked up for a fifth season. It makes sense for FOX to let
King of the Hill go at this time, considering that
Family Guy spin-off
The Cleveland Show is waiting in the wings. On the other side, though, shouldn't they wait to see if that's going to work before they dump a solid perennial performer like
Hill? The way they're going, Seth MacFarlane is going to own Sunday nights.

Day three of Comic-Con 2008 began with waiting in a line that streched the length of the convention center for the Futurama panel, which was followed by The Simpsons panel. Futurama featured the primary voice cast of Billy West, Katey Sagal, and John DiMaggio as well as creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen.
Due to time limitations the panel when right into audience questions. One that was asked pertained to Matt and David's plans for the show. Both meant said that they had the entire story of Futurama planned even before the show began. They didn't know where the show would go, and they still have plenty of secrets to reveal in upcoming DVD releases.
