Anthony Edwards returning to ER (!)

Anthony EdwardsRemember a while back when we talked about this being the last season of ER and producers were trying to get old cast members to come back for an episode of the show and we joked that they should find a way to get Anthony Edwards back on the show for an episode even though his character died?

The producers have Anthony Edwards coming back to the show for an episode even though his character died.

You can probably guess how Dr. Mark Greene will be coming back. He hasn't been kept alive by some mysterious millionaire in a mountain hideout all these years (though I would happily swallow such a soap opera-ish plot because I never thought they should have killed off Mark in the first place), the character will actually be seen in new flashbacks that have something to do with a new character played by Angela Bassett (this won't be footage from past episodes, they're new flashbacks to events we didn't see on the show before).

Clooney gets The Fall of Bob on Showtime

George Clooney with a drinkTo some people, George Clooney's affable good nature and sincerity comes off as smug over-confidence. I fall into the former rather than the latter category.

I think George is ambitious and grateful to be working in the business. I think he remembers the years of struggling to become a star -- those years on The Facts of Life and Riptide and E/R (the Elliott Gould sitcom, not the Emmy award-winning NBC medical drama).

Failures like Leatherheads have to keep him humble. Anyway, his efforts to expand as an actor and director and producer strike me as someone who is wisely not resting on his laurels. That said, today it was reported that Clooney's production company, Smoke House, is behind a new pilot for Showtime called The Fall of Bob.

BSG: Razor Flashback - "This has happened before..." - VIDEO

bsg razor logoHere's the fifth installment of the Batlestar Galactica: Razor flashbacks (or "Razorettes"). As some have previously noted (and I don't believe this is a spoiler really), this clip and the following ones will be seen as flashbacks in the Battlestar Galactica: Razor movie later this month.

The video is embedded after the jump. Enjoy!

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip: The Friday Night Slaughter

Now a great twist would be if _all_ of the character's names were anagrams...(S01E15) Tim Batale = Matt Albie.

Dave I. Bradey = Very Bad Idea.

I watch TV with the closed captioning on (my mother-in-law is deaf so my wife is used to it and besides, it's helping me learn how to read) so it was fairly easy picking up on the anagram.

What wasn't so easy was figuring out what purpose the Tim Batale plot device actually served...

The Nine: All About Eva

Chi McBride(S01E05) As you can tell from the episode title, tonight's episode focused exclusively on Jeremy. Ha! Just kidding. But it didn't really focus completely on Eva either. There was also plenty about the Lucas/Randall relationship, Franny, Kathryn and the baby, and the new Odd Couple, Nick and Egan.

"Can one divorced man and one soon to be divorced man share an apartment, without driving each other crazy?"

The Nine: Heroes Welcome

The Nine(S01E02) I love how this show isn't toying with us. Sure, they're holding back on many of the details about what exactly happened during the 52 hour bank robbery, but you don't get the feeling they're taunting us or teasing us (*cough* Lost *cough*). Everything that is happening and the way they're showing it seems natural to the story, and it's amazing how intriguing a two or three second flashback snippet can be.

In this ep, the survivors are trying to get on with their lives, but it's not going to be easy...

The Nine -- an early look

The Nine
I'll have the full review of the first episode of The Nine when it premieres later this week (Wednesday night at 10, after Lost), but I wanted to tell you the 10 things I jotted down as I watched it.

1. This show isn't just "involving," it's mesmerizing, and that's unbelievably rare on television.

2. The cast is like a greatest hits of television from the past 10-15 years: Tim Daly (Wings, The Fugitive, Eyes), John Billingsley (Star Trek: Enterprise), Scott Wolf (Party of Five), Tom Verica (American Dreams, Will and Grace, Central Park West), Chi McBride (Boston Public, House), Kim Raver (24, Third Watch), and others. The cast is so good it's scary.

The Prisoner: Once Upon A Time

Will Number 6 survive Degree Absolute?(S01E16) It has come down to this. Number 6's captors have failed in every attempt to get him to tell them why he resigned. Since this is the second to last episode in the series, something has to give.

It doesn't take long to realize that this episode is going to be an interesting one because Leo McKern returns as Number 2. In my opinion, he is the best Number 2 because he just seems so comfortable in the role. As he returns, we can see that he is not happy to be there. It appears that he has been brought back to ascertain Number 6's reason for his resignation. Upon looking at Number 6's actions on the video screen, he asks angrily, "Why do you care?"

The Prisoner: Do Not Forsake Me, Oh My Darling

What lurks in Number 6's mind?(S01E13) The beginning of this episode certainly will startle you if you've been watching The Prisoner regularly. There are no opening credits, at least at first. There is a teaser and then goes the title card with different music and no dialogue with Number 2.

First, a little background regarding this episode. When this episode was being filmed, Patrick McGoohan was filming his role in the movie Ice Station Zebra which starred Rock Hudson. (Not a bad flick, by the way.) In any case, you don't see much of Number 6 here except at the beginning and at the end, but his presence is felt throughout the entire episode.
