CBS and Condé Nast Media Group announced some heavy hitters for
Fashion Rocks. The show, which coincides with New York's Fashion Week, will now include A-listers like Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Fergie, Mariah, Carey, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Duffy, Keith Urban, Kid Rock and Lil Wayne.
Okay, maybe they're not all A-listers. But all of them are performing.

(S07E29) Well, this is what you've all been waiting for, right? What's that? Finale? Yeah, I guess that'll be cool, too. But if you've listened to Ryan all season then you know TONIGHT is really what it's all about! If you're looking to find out who got eliminated by vote last night you're going to have to wait until tomorrow. But if you're looking for two-and-a-half hours of entertainment chock full of celebrities and song and charity, then you're looking for "
Idol Gives Back."
Last year's inaugural edition was very good, and
Kristin's report of the Idol Gives Back taping from this past Sunday was also very positive. We don't have any pesky (non) eliminations to deal with like last year, so just kick back, donate and enjoy. And, if you want, join us online and chat about it in real-time with other giving
Idol fans.
You can join the chat starting just before 7:30/6:30pm CDT by following this link. Look for the full episode review right here later tonight.Continue reading American Idol: Idol Gives Back 2008

(
S03E11) After a crazy performance show it was only natural to expect that anything could happen on elimination night. Things started out normally enough with a group performance to "The Lion's Hunt" from the
Lion King soundtrack, choreographed by Tyce Diorio.
It was not my favorite of the group performances, but it was fun. The thing I found interesting was that, like last week, this one also ended with the focus on Sabra. I'm taking that as a subliminal message for people to vote for her. She's quickly becoming my favorite in the competition.

For a disturbingly long time now, I've been bothered by the Pussycat Dolls. Every time I pass a poster of the girls, a marquee boasting their name, or their extremely well-supported racks on the CD racks (sorry, I had to), I feel a sting of recognition in singer Nicole Scherzinger. Had I seen her in an ad for a
late-night hotline or
Olive Garden once upon a time? Or passed her in the street years ago? These moments of confusion were brief and fleeting, because I have bigger things to worry about and, well, I have a short attention span. It wasn't until I recently stumbled across Scherzinger's Wikipedia page that I remembered the WB and its reality show,
Popstars.

The former Duchess of York and Weight Watchers spokeswoman Sarah Ferguson has publicly stated her love of ABC's
Dancing with the Stars, the American version of Brit hit
Strictly Come Dancing. In response,
producer Conrad Green has offered the affable redhead a place in next season's line-up. Green has said that Fergie would add a "touch of class to the proceedings" and suggested that a romance might spark between the ex-royal and her dancing partner. Sounds like wishful thinking to me. A British accent does not "class" make except maybe on American television so, alright, she might "class" the joint up.
The implication of the announcement is that Fergie has accepted the invite, but royal watchers shouldn't get excited just yet. The word isn't official, and Fergie has a heavy schedule of waving politely and counting meal points.

Did you watch the Billboard Awards on Monday night? Me neither. Thank goodness.
There's a clip of Fergie performing her atrocious "Fergalicous" song with absolutely no energy whatsoever. After watching her lifeless performance of what should be a high energy song, I am convinced that she's nothing but eye candy. She can shake her ass and her boobs in the camera for music videos, but when it comes to stage presence, girl ain't got none. She walked out on the stage and stood there as dancers bounced and lights flashed all around her. The director couldn't even hide Fergie's performance with a bunch of zooming cameras. About two-thirds into her song, she seems to forget the words. I sure hope this chick's 15 minutes are up.

Paris Hilton has followed
Britney Spears' lead by backing out of her hosting gig for Fox's Billboard Music Awards. Unlike Brit Brit, who didn't give a reason, Paris apparently quit the show because she didn't like the jokes that were written for her. She says that she didn't appreciate making jokes about people who are her friends. She couldn't come to an agreement with the producers about her scripts, so she quit.
This behavior pretty much goes along the lines of what
Tina Fey told Howard Stern recently. She said that Paris takes herself way too seriously (oh, and she is stupid and sheds fake hair).
The hostless
Billboard Music Awards air Monday on Fox at 8 pm. Musical guests include Janet Jackson, The Killers, Gwen Stefani, Fergie, Mary J. Blige, Nickelback, and Ludacris featuring Pharrell and Young Jeezy.

Man, this year's going fast, isn't it? It seems like just yesterday we were all speculating on
how well Dick Clark did on
New Year's Rockin' Eve 2006, his first public appearance since his stroke. Now, ABC is
announcing the lineup for
New Year's Rockin' Eve 2007, which Clark will co-host with New Dick Clark, otherwise known as Ryan Seacrest.
The biggest name joining the lineup is Fergie, singer for the Black Eyed Peas, who currently has a hit solo album. Her song "Supersonic" (er, I mean "Fergalicious"... those songs sound so much alike, I get confused) is also burning up the Billboard charts. She'll perform as well as introduce performances by Meat Loaf, Natasha Bedingfield, and Latin sensation RBD.
The fact that I'm even aware that the song "Fergalicious" exists is proof of how it has permeated everyone's existence (I'm not a big hip-hop fan). Looks like Clark is playing the hot hand, as usual. Not bad for a seventy-seven year old guy who can barely speak anymore.

I was over at
RetroJunk the other day, watching opening sequences to my favorite '80s cartoons, when I came across this little gal. I used to watch her on a certain Disney Channel program that had singing and dancing kids on it and, when I saw her again I instantly recognized her as someone who is pretty darn famous today.
Who is she?
