Rescue Me - Fantasy
(M2) "Do you have a boner?" - Franco

Wow... if Tommy isn't drinking anymore, maybe he should start. Fantasizing about his estranged wife is one thing. Thinking about your deceased cousin's widow isn't much better. Getting it on in your dreams with both of them? Well... OK. But having a sex dream with The Probie (even if Mike isn't "The Probie" anymore... he still is) is just plain freaky.

Lucas: Star Wars TV series will be different

george lucasIn an interview with SFGate, Star Wars creator George Lucas said his live-action Star Wars TV series planned for 2009 will be different than the updated Battlestar Galactica or Joss Whedon's Firefly. I mean, of course it will be different, those are all three different series, but it sounds like Lucas has something big in mind. He also said the new series would be more "adult" and would not focus on the Skywalkers. I'm not sure what he meant by the "adult" remark, but I imagine he plans to make softcore Star Wars porn. Trust me, they didn't even come close to exposing all the gadgets hidden inside R2-D2. The Star Wars saga is about to get hella steamy. Hells yeah. Or perhaps not, either way it is my duty as a Star Wars geek to be excited about it.

Beauty and the Beast comes to DVD

Beauty and the BeastRemember Beauty and the Beast? Ron Perlman as Vincent, the cultured man-lion, falls for savvy assistant DA Catherine played by a pre-buff Linda Hamilton.

The series which began in 1987 had lots of rabid fans, and not just of the romance novel variety. Well, fans, your day has finally come. Beauty and the Beast will be released to DVD on February 13, 2007.

While the official announcement from Paramount hasn't been released, DVD Empire is taking pre-orders.

Now, this is just for the fans. The narration from the opening credits:

Raimi producing Goodkind's Sword of Truth for television

wizard's first ruleSam Raimi, director of the Spider-Man and Evil Dead films, as well as producer of popular syndicated series such as Xena and Hercules, recently secured the film rights to author Terry Goodkind's eleven-volume Sword of Truth series. Development of the first part of the lengthy mini-series, based on the first book in the series, Wizard's First Rule, will begin as Raimi wraps up production on Spider-Man 3. The final volume of Goodkind's fantasy series is slated for release in 2008, and more information on the TV adaptation will be available early next year. I've read very little fantasy in my lifetime, but are any of you fans of Goodkind? What do you think of this collaboration?

Doctor Who is number one

I'll admit I've never given Doctor Who a chance. When I would stumble upon it while surfing the channels it just never drew me in. Oddly enough, I also found myself skipping past Red Dwarf on many a night because I thought, quite ignorantly, that it was Doctor Who. Hey, remember I was only looking at my screen for a split second: "Science fiction show on PBS. Must be Doctor Who." Well I soon learned from my ignorance and became a fan of Red Dwarf while continuing my lifelong indifference of Doctor Who. Others don't agree however, as Doctor Who was recently named the best fantasy TV series by British TV watchers. Red Dwarf did come in second, however, with the TV version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy coming in third.
