Thus ends my Everybody Hates Chris reviews

everybody hates chrisMy reviews of Everybody Hates Chris didn't garner many responses, though that never bothered me much. It's a smart and funny show and I was happy to write about it every week, even if it didn't get the recognition shared by your Ugly Bettys, My Name is Earls and other comedies from the big networks.

Unfortunately, I have to stop reviewing the show, because we're not allowed to write about black people on this blog -- I'm kidding! Really, that was a joke. Actually, the honest to goodness reason I can't write about Everybody Hates Chris is that the CW has been removed from my cable lineup because of some corporate nonsense I don't fully understand, nor do I plan to understand it because I only care about the shows themselves, not whatever bureaucratic B.S. is keeping the CW off my TV.

New Oxygen series places ad on Craigslist

shannen dohertySo, last month I mentioned that Shannen Doherty would be returning to television with a new reality show in which she would help people put the kibosh on bad relationships, romantic and otherwise. Well, if you live in Los Angeles, are in a crappy relationship, and feel that Ms. Doherty is the only one who can set things straight, well, then you're insane. But you're also just the right person to answer this ad, which was placed on Craigslist to lure people to take part in the new series. And heck, both parties are compensated, so whether you're the "dumper" or the "dumpee" it all works out in the end.

The new series, Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty, will air on Oxygen.

That '70s Show's long goodbye

that 70s showOn May 18, FOX will air the 200th and final episode of That '70s Show. The hour-long finale will mark the end of one of the network's longest running scripted comedies. While I could sit and watch That '70s Show and always enjoy a few chuckles, I also felt like the show should have been much better than it was. Too often I would see great premises sucked into the vortex of sitcom cliches, which would normally make me change the channel, but the show and its characters had enough of that weird tripped out charm to make me come back on occasion. After awhile, though, I gave up, and I haven't seen a single episode of this season.

Despite my hot and cold feelings for the show, FOX has decided it needs a bigger send off than some mere series finale. On May 11, BEFORE the finale, FOX will air a retrospective titled That '70s Show: The Final Goodbye. The 90-minute special, which begins at 8:37 p.m. EST (it follows a preview of the new X-Men film) will consist of the same stuff of similar specials: interviews with cast members and guests, outtakes, deleted scenes, and etc.
