Some very talented
Lost fan took plane crash clips from the last three seasons and
edited them together in a sequence to show what was happening as the plane crashed. Even though
the editor doesn't seem to think it's very good, it really is. Sure, the time doesn't match up exactly, but it's pretty damn close. The plane crash is shown in almost real time from the perspective of the passengers, The Others, and Desmond. It shows the cause-and-effect of the near-implosion of the hatch when Desmond doesn't push the button. It's very exciting, though I kind-of think it wouldn't make any sense to anyone who doesn't watch
Lost.
Video is after the jump:

I think this video would be funnier if it was about half as long as it is, but it's still a pretty funny edit of dialog lifted from Star Trek that only sound dirty and risque when heard out of context. The '70s porno music in the background is also a nice touch. The only problem is, now whenever I watch Star Trek I get kind of turned on.
The scenes in the video are lifted from the episode "The Immunity Syndrome" in which the crew of the Enterprise receives a distress call from a Vulcan ship. I'm pretty sure that episode didn't involve a lot of sex, but if it was as explicit maybe more people would have watched it. According to Wikipedia it won an Emmy for special effects, but if they also tossed in more "adult" elements it might have also won an Adult Video Award, thus bridging the gap between perverts and sci fi geeks. I'm just saying it has the power to bring people together.
Oh yeah, and the end of the clip contains a clever spoof of those obnoxious HeadOn TV spots. Enjoy:

The Sopranos returns for its final episodes beginning April 8th, and I can't think of a better way to get caught up on the last six seasons. Some editing genius has put together a recap of the entire series up to this point, including everybody who has been whacked, everybody Tony has slept with, those ducks, Anthony's black-outs, etc. It's only seven minutes long and it's a great refresher. Because, seriously, can anybody keep track of who is still alive?
Video is after the jump- watch it soon, because you never know how long HBO will let it stay up on YouTube. (If they're smart, they'll leave it up there because it's actually marketing for the final episodes)
*UPDATE: Sopranos creator David Chase
loves the montage and is asking HBO to leave it up on YouTube. Yay!

Now that we have all these fancy-wancy computers, it's easy to make funny videos like the one I've placed below, but this particular one was created in the late '80s, and no doubt took a long time to create. It's also one of the most hysterical things I've seen in a long time.
The video is an anti-drug promo with Ronald and Nancy Reagan, creatively edited into a call for more widespread drug use, especially among children. Yes, the video is manipulated to make it appear as if Ron and Nancy are advocates of drug use, but if you pay close attention, you'll also learn how important freedom is to this nation, especially the freedom to have less freedom.
The video is a little over seven minutes long, but trust me, it's worth it to sit through the whole thing. I laughed so hard the people in the apartment next to mine probably think I'm insane.

This might go down as one of the coolest television-related sites ever (besides TV Squad, of course). Sci Fi has launched a
Battlestar Galactica Videomaker Toolkit where you can make your own videos. And they cut no corners doing it. You can access a handful of scenes, sound effects and music clips from
BSG-- and create your own storyline by editing those scenes with scenes you've shot yourself (you've always wanted to fly a Raptor, haven't you?). The finished videos can be up to four minutes long and, according to the website, executive producer David David Eick will choose the best one and play it during an episode of
BSG.
All the video scenes are either on land or in space and they don't show any of the characters. Too bad, really. I'd like to edit myself into the boxing episode and kick Lee Adama's ass!

Whatever you may have thought of Napster and file sharing, one thing is clear: it changed the way people think about how music is both marketed and distributed. In much the same way, sites like YouTube have changed how people watch television. These days people have more options than simply plopping down on the couch when their favorite show airs, as the Web offers them different ways (both legally and not-so-legally) to see their favorite programs.

Basic cable channel A&E bought the syndication rights to
The Sopranos, and now the network is busy trying to clean up the show for its audience. What can and can't they air? It's a fine line that basically says blood is okay but brain spatter is not. Case in point: the last episode of season one has Jimmy Altieri getting whacked with one bullet to the back of his head. When the episode aired on HBO, the audience saw blood spatter on the wall and chunks of brain slide down the wall. A&E's audience won't see the brains. There are about one hundred other instances where executives have to make similar decisions about violence, language and nudity. The newly edited versions of
The Sopranos air on A&E in January.
I'm wondering if it's even worth the effort. A&E bought the right to air all 85 episodes of
The Sopranos... for a staggering $2.5 million per episode. But how much fun is it really going to be without all the naughty stuff?
