The long list of shows that may not return in the fall

upfronts criminal intentThe upfronts are right around the corner, where network executives let advertisers know what shows will be making the cut for next fall. Early word from MediaLife is that NBC has the longest list of shows might not be returning. Probably the most surprising show on the list is Law and Order: Criminal Intent. With the rotating cast and drooping ratings, media watchers say this one is likely on the chopping block (the other two are safe, though). Things aren't looking good for Commander in Chief, either. And, of course, we already knew that there is a good chance Scrubs will be... scrubbed (but possibly get new life on ABC).

NBC Fall Preview now online

SurfaceOne of the many great things about the web: you can see previews of the new fall season any time, night or day! NBC has several videos up at their site (hosted by Vanessa Marcil and Nikki Cox of Las Vegas) that give a sneak peek at new shows such as Surface, The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, E-Ring, and My Name Is Earl. Surface looks like B-movie fun, but E-Ring seems like West Wing lite.

You have to sit through a Toyota commercial (and one that's a couple of years old at that), but you get to see some longer previews than what we've seen on TV so far.
