The Office's Angela is pregnant, which is highly inappropriate

While I'm sure her Office alter-ego would find an unwed pregnancy extremely unprofessional, real-life Angela Kinsey and her husband are very excited to be expecting their first child in May, according to Zap2It.com. Assuming the pesky strike ends before the season does, one would assume writers will either have to work the pregnancy into the show or work around it with strategically placed filing cabinets and Angela walking around holding her clipboard constantly.

The Office: Phyllis' Wedding

How nice to work there. Really. I mean, my office sucks but at least these guys are funny!(S03E15) Let's get the short review out of the way: this was an amazing episode.

Here's a shocking thing that a lot of TV executives seem to not be able to understand: when you get really talented writers and allow them to work with really talented actors, good things will happen. You don't really need to over think the equation. The Office consistently manages to dazzle us with little more than well written scripts executed by great actors. You don't need mythology or gimmicks... just talent.

All right, the fawning is making even me sick. On to the episode...

Ed Helms now an Office regular

Ed HelmsEd Helms' status has been changed from "recurring" to "regular" on The Office.

This is a little surprising to me. I thought that Andy and Karen would only be on the show for this season, since they were the newbies in the Dunder-Mifflin office and were brought over to just be a wrench in the Jim/Pam and Michael/Dwight relationships. And I thought that this was confirmed in the last couple of episodes, since Jim told Karen he still likes Pam and Michael was hip to Andy's sneaky, suckup-ish ways. But I guess that the people behind the scenes have more plans for these two characters.

Of course, Rashida Jones, who plays Karen, still hasn't been made a regular, so maybe she's on her way out after all. Though if Pam gets back together with Roy, maybe Jim will need her again.

What if The Office was a crime thriller?

The OfficeAh, the people of the internets are endlessly clever. In the tradition of recut trailers such as Brokeback To The Future comes The Office...if it was a crime thriller instead of a Must-See comedy.

My favorite parts: the slow motion shot of Jim in the rear view mirror, Dwight and Ryan out in the empty field, and Kevin saying "My God, what have I done?" They should have ended it with Dwight saying "you're dead" though, instead of the gunshot.

I guess TV shows and movies can look like anything you want them to be. It's all in the editing. I want to see The Wire done as a wacky sitcom.

The Office's Rainn Wilson to kick ninja butt

Rainn WilsonRainn Wilson will finally put all that Office martial arts training to work in his screenwriting debut Bonzai Shadowhands. Wilson, who plays purple belt sycophant Dwight on The Office, will star in the film as a once-great ninja who is now down on his luck.

The film, to be directed by Ivan Reitman's son Jason, is described as a comedy with serious overtones. "It's Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon meets Midnight Cowboy." (No word on whether Wilson will have any "hustler in the city" scenes or not. "You know what you got to do, cowboy.")

The Office Webisodes -- Number 10: The Best Day of My Life (series finale)

The mystery is solvedThe final webisode of the series begins with Angela telling Dwight about the investigation behind closed doors. She suspects Michael, but Dwight, ever the loyal subordinate, defends Michael and says that Meredith or Creed likely had something to do with the missing $3,000.

However, Angela is still suspicious of Michael, and even accuses Dwight of hiding something. Dwight further defends Michael and uses the "You can't handle the truth!" line from A Few Good Men to prove his point.

Why would anyone want to work at Dunder-Mifflin?

The OfficeI cringe every time I watch The Office. I want to intervene into the lives of these people. Go right into their office, or at least e-mail them (if Michael isn't monitoring the e-mails they get) and implore them to leave that awful company at once. It seems to me that none of these people could possibly get paid a lot of money, so what makes them stay there? The wonderful atmosphere (ugh)? The fun coworkers (not really)? The great boss (ahem)? It's almost the ultimate example of the lame, tedious, soul-sucking office you hear so much about. I've worked in a couple of offices like that, and it was the worst time of my life.

Michael is one thing. He gets paid well and seems to be on some blind corporate career track (though I think that even he would improve as a person if he left the company). But it's the other characters, like Jim and Pam, who I worry about. They should be working some place else before they wake up 5 years from now in the same crappy job.

Dwight, however...I don't know what could help him.
