What are the top moments in TV history?

EmmyWe're used to reading all of the lists that rank the best and worst TV shows of all-time, now ABC is getting even more specific than that. What are the top moments in television history?

You can vote for them at the ABC site and your answers will be revealed on the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards, which will be broadcast on Sunday, September 21. There are two categories, comedy and drama (sorry fans of game shows and reality shows). No, you can't write in your own vote, you have to pick from the finalists that they've already chosen for you, so right off the bat you know there's going to be a lot of "but what about..." and "why did they include..." talk.

The Jeopardy Award nominees

TV Squad AwardsLast week, you had a chance to nominate shows for The Jeopardy Award. This award rewards the primetime game show requiring the most skill. Because of the fact that we are only looking for shows that air in primetime, a lot of game shows requiring skills are out of the running. So is the case for Cash Cab, which received a lot of nominations, Crosswords and Jeopardy.

After the jump you will find the nominees, listed in alphabetical order, for The Jeopardy Award, along with a poll for the Reader's Choice Award. Both winners will be announced next week.

The Jeopardy Award: Call for considerations

TV Squad AwardsGame shows have been an important part of television since the late 1930s. In 1938, the BBC aired Spelling Bee, a show that is believed to be the world's first game show. In July 1941, CBS Television Quiz made history by becoming the first television game show to broadcast regularly. Since then, U.S. viewers were treated with all sorts of game shows such as To Tell the Truth, Beat the Clock, Concentration, Name that Tune, The Price is Right, Jeopardy, etc.

Jeopardy!, which premiered in 1964, is one of the most successful and popular game show in U.S. TV history. Its challenging questions and format helped make it a household name. This is why we named our "Primetime game show requiring the most skill" category after it.

In this category, we include 2007-2008 season game shows that air/aired in primetime (Jeopardy! is out of the running since it doesn't air in that block) and that are not reality-type game shows such as Survivor and Big Brother. Shows that come to mind are Duel, 1 vs 100, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader, and the primetime edition of The Price Is Right. Personally, I don't think Deal or No Deal or The Moment of Truth qualify since they don't require much skill.

Which shows do you think should be nominated for The Jeopardy Award? List your suggestions below!

You're watching Duel on ABC - Part 2

Duel
Back in December, I wrote about my reactions after watching the premiere of ABC's new game show, Duel. Back then, I was entertained by the show but had concerns about the host. When I heard the show was getting a second season, I hoped that ABC read my column and your comments so that Mike Greenberg would stop holding that pen and would say something different than "Screen up!" and "You're watching Duel on ABC!", that the suspense music and pause would be toned down, and that we would actually get more than one question answered before we go to a commercial break!

Because I liked the difficulty of the questions, the one-on-one face offs, the sudden death, the picking of your opponent, etc., and because the ads for this new crop of episodes promised me changes, I decided to give season 2 of Duel a chance. Did it meet my expectations this time around?
