One of the greatest guest stars in
Scrubs, nay, in television history
will make his triumphant return soon.
Tom Cavangagh told
TV Guide he will make another guest appearance on
Scrubs as J.D.'s older brother Dan before the final season's hourglass runs out of mortality sand.
Cavanagh confirmed the news by saying the "chances are 100 percent" that he'll get to go back on the show this season. Cavanagh will also star in
the TNT show Trust Me with
Will & Grace star Eric McCormick and
Scrubs regular Sarah Chalke.

We've seen The Office as a suspense thriller. Now here's Scrubs edited as a serious drama.
Of course, it doesn't work quite as well, because Scrubs already has a lot of very serious moments. I was watching a repeat of Scrubs a few weeks ago, the episode where the woman dies and they give her organs to other patients and they die too because the docs didn't know the woman had rabies, and my roommate (who doesn't watch the show) said "I thought this show was a comedy?" And I explained that, yeah, it is, but it has a lot of serious, real moments too, and that's one of the reasons I like it. So this video isn't as good as The Office one.
But it's still well done. And they were wise not to include Dr. Kelso in the footage, because just hearing his mean, cutting voice and seeing his scrunched up face would have ruined the whole thing. Video after the jump.

Stop! Don't touch
the remote! Keep that finger away from the Power button! In other words, don't turn off your TV during TV Turnoff
Week. If you do, you'll be missing one of the funniest comedies on television today.
I am talking about
NBC's Scrubs. There hasn't been a comedy since Friends, not even Everyone
Everybody Loves Raymond, that makes me laugh out loud like Scrubs does. I mean, how can you
not chuckle while Chris Turk (Donald Faison) dances and lip-synchs to Bel Biv Devoe's Poison. Or snicker
when Dr. Cox (John McGinley) goes on one of his 30-second rant on, for instance, why the purple Wiggle is
always sleeping (for the uninitiated, the purple Wiggle is Jeff Fatt of the very popular children's television show
The Wiggles). Or guffaw when J.D. (Zach Braff) has one of his surreal daydreams in the middle
of a conversation.
