Here are the new TV DVDs, in stores tomorrow.Am I a terrible person for not wanting to get
Andy Richter Controls The Universe? Not that it was a bad show, it wasn't. It's just not one of those short-lived shows where I say to myself, "boy, I can't wait until that comes out on DVD." I can think of many other short-lived shows on DVD that I would buy before I bought this one. But it's good to see it being released.
I have
Room 222 on my shelf but haven't watched it yet.
- Andy Richter Controls The Universe - Complete Series
- Charles in Charge - Season 4 (Amazon.com only)
- The Dog Whisperer - Very Best Of

The next time I have a panic attack, I want
Cesar Millan to talk me off the ledge. He might be known as the Dog Whisperer on the
National Geographic Channel, but I have a feeling he's great with humans, too. I'm sure I'd respond to his gentle "ch ch" murmurs just as well as the angry pit bulls he deals with regularly on
Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan.
The show
celebrates its 100th episode on Sept. 19, and this household is officially hooked. There's something strangely meditative about the way he calms the dogs on that show. And, truthfully, it's not so much the dogs he works with as their nimrod human companions. Let's face it. The dogs are alright. The humans need work.
It's all about relationships, and his job, he says, is to draw out the good behavior in any given dog ("There are no killer dogs!"), and then tell the humans how to maintain it.

Dog Whisperer meet Ghost Whisperer. Ghost Whisperer meet Dog Whisperer. In what is either a new low or absurdly funny high in stunt casting, Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan will be guest-starring as himself on an
upcoming episode of Ghost Whisperer. It looks like Homer the Ghost Dog is having problems "crossing into the light" so Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Delia (Camryn Manheim) seek Cesar's post-mortem doggy advice.
Cesar is, of course, the star of his own
Dog Whisperer vehicle on the National Geographic Channel. You may remember him in his animated incarnation from
South Park when Cartman's mom turned to him for parenting advice. Cesar's aggressive, alpha dog methods have their
detractors, but the story of his journey to the United States and daily routine today are something else.
Malcolm Gladwell's New Yorker piece on Cesar if worth a look regardless of what you think of his methods. Then again, isn't anything by Malcolm Gladwell worth a look?

(S10E07) When you reach her room, Butters will keep a look out while
Kenny opens the bedroom door, Kyle puts a pillow over my mom's head, and Stan shoots her in the face. --Cartman,
plotting his mother's demise.
It's been an interesting season, and this wasn't a bad episode to go out on. Cartman's mom, both the sluttiest and
most malleable woman on the planet, has almost given up on Cartman, who, as we know from his past exploits, has a
tendency to engage in acts of complete, unmitigated evil. No matter how hard she tries, Cartman continues to manipulate
her, so she does what any hip mother would do in this day and age, she relies on a reality TV show to try and set her
son straight.
Unfortunately, hiring the nannies from Nanny 911 doesn't work, as Cartman's knack for manipulating
authority figures sends one away screaming, and another to the insane asylum. Unfortunately, they never send Nanny
Skesis, a nice little allusion to The Dark Crystal.
