did you see the lights-related stories

(S01E22) I really don't think ABC understands what they're giving up here. Granted this wasn't the best episode of the season. But as far as season finales go, this is right up there. Things you wanted addressed were taken care of and the cliffhanger... man, I never saw that coming. The only gripe I had was the middle. There was a lot of filler and it took some patience to get to the good stuff. I'm glad I waited.
We picked up right where last week left off with Szura's gang pushing people into the water to do a dance with the orange aliens. Tom and Russell put up a fight though. They bust out their guns and take out a ton of the hybrids. Just in time too because Dave and Louis finally show up with Colonel Lopez and the Air Force. Szura, being the smart guy that he is, grabs Mariel (four of the pregnant ladies too) and drives off with them. Game on.

(S01E21) Holy crap, this show is incredible. This episode had the potential to be the season finale the way it ended... I can't believe what the hybrids are up to. But we still get one more episode next week and I can't wait. With Alias, Lost, and Invasion, ABC has one hell of a Wednesday night line-up right now. Too bad we're only getting it for little while longer.
Last week we left Tom and Russell as they headed back into Homestead to try and stop Szura's plan... whatever it was. Now we know. Using the military uniforms and guns that Tom supplied Szura with, the hybrids are posing as National Guard. They're driving around, picking people up, and dropping them off at this (deserted?) military base. As the hurricane keeps knocking trees down and blocking off roads, Mariel, Larkin, and the kids end up with nowhere to go. Until one of the hybrid patrols drives up. They hop in the back of the truck but by the time Mariel realizes what's going on (I guess they all have some kind of "hybrid sense"), it's too late.

(S01E19) Ehh... not so much. This episode was kind of like
Oscar Mayer Bologna. They tell you it's not all "filler," but after you look it? Yeah, it's
"filler." All this episode really achieved was the creation of a bond between Tom and Russell and I don't
think we'll see that bond break for the rest of the season. It's gotten to the point where I'm starting to believe
Tom. He was genuinely surprised when Russell told him that he saw pictures of Szura with the military. I really
think he means it when he tells Russell that he wants to stop Szura and whatever's planned.
That's all you really needed to know about this episode. It concluded with those two teaming up but it was
stretched out because Jesse decided that he just can't take living with "all these bastard hybrids"
anymore.

I'm going to miss this show when it goes on hiatus for the next three or four weeks, but is
anyone else looking forward to that new show The Evidence? The previews make it look outstanding. Then again,
the previews for The Unit looked pretty good too. Oh well, we'll
see.
Back to Invasion, not the greatest episode.
But the last five minutes - whoa! When it does come back, there's gonna be a whole lotta explainin' to do.

Now this was a jam-packed episode... way too much happened and guaranteed I'm going
to forget something important, so bear with me as I try to recall every detail. As I've said before, this show started
out slow but damn is it good or what? With some of the fluff episodes that Lost has been pushing out lately
(Charlie's crappy episode anyone?), it's making
Invasion even more enjoyable because it makes up for the previous hour of disappointment.
This episode
can be compared to buying deli meat, specifically one of those vacuum-sealed things that has bologna, salami, and
smoked honey ham all in the same package. What I'm trying to say is that it had everything. Who shot Tom? What keeps
watching Larkin take a shower from the bathroom window? Who the heck is this Zura guy that Healy kept telling Russel
about in the last episode? Where the heck did Louis go? All answered my friends.

I
really liked this episode. Thus far, this show has lacked a solid flashback episode to shed some light on the backstory
of our main characters and that's exactly what we got last night. Up until now, we've had an idea of what went one
between Russel, Mariel, and Tom nine years ago after Tom's plane crash - but now we got to see it play out.
Tom and Mariel have been arguing like crazy. Mariel is beyond pissed off because Tom banished Jesse and Rose to
Russel's house. But all is forgiven when someone sneaks into their house and puts three bullets in Tom's stomach. Cue
flashback.

Despite lots of the mediocre reviews this show has received from disgruntled
"fans", I still like it. In fact, it gets better with every episode. Each installment has added just a bit
more than the last one and the episode from a few nights ago was huge. The "you know what" has hit the fan
and it seems Sheriff Tom has finally started to enact whatever plan he has in the works. It seems like he's reaching
the point where he either knows precisely what's happened to him and he's embracing it or whatever is inside him is so
powerful that he truly has no control. Either way, I'm terrified of his condescendingly "nice" attitude and
humungous forehead. I mean, look at that thing.
