Yesterday while I was looking around the Web for links to add to this post, I noticed that Nickelodeon's Nick.com site had a scroll on it telling kids to go outside and play in honor of the Worldwide Day of Play. The network also went off the air for a few hours, replacing programming with a similar scroll. That's sound advice, of course, but I pretty much had the same reaction I did when TV Land did the same thing recently in honor of Family Day. Won't people just change the channel? I don't fault Nickelodeon for trying, but people are conditioned to automatically hit the clicker when something appears on screen they don't like, whether it's a show they hate, and annoying commercial, or words on the screen telling them to go outside.dark-related stories

If you tune into TV Land on September 25 from 6 to 7 p.m., don't expect to see anything. No really, you won't see anything because the network is going off the air for that hour in honor of Family Day -- A Day to Eat Dinner with Your Children. The idea, I guess, is that if there's nothing being shown on TV Land you'll have no choice but to eat a meal with your family. Frankly, I think the American family needs more persuading than that. Maybe they could hire goons to break into people's homes and tie them to the dinner table and force them to eat at knife point. Even better, they could get TV Land personalities like Henry Winkler and Mr. T to do this. I'd be honored to have the Fonz force feed me a potato. About a week ago Keith sent this YouTube video to us TV Squadders, and I have to say it'll make it so you never watch Full House the same way again. A man by the name of Sean Klitzner has placed himself within an episode of Full House (renamed "Fuller House") and turned it into a sick and depraved sitcom about inappropriate relations between a grown man and the three Tanner daughters. The video starts off kind of slow, so if you want to get to the stuff that had me laughing so hard I almost choked on my own eyeballs, skip to 4 minutes and 40 seconds into the video. I only recommend this for people like myself who have an incredibly sick and twisted sense of humor. Otherwise you might want to scrub yourself with holy water and steel wool after you view it.
