(S14E02) Tonight was the kind of episode during which you realize why
The Amazing Race keeps snagging those Emmy awards. As the adrenalin builds for me watching from my comfy chair, I can only imagine what a wonderful adventure it is for the teams. The whirlwind race around the globe only took 23 days to film yet has a good six months of action packed within. The teams run the gambit from traveling pros to some who have never even made it south of the border. The editing is superb. I can't say enough good things about the show. But I also can't get into spoilers before the jump.

The Amazing Race shows how to do a reality show the right way. Exciting, entertaining, teams to both hate and love, plus a whole lot of stunning scenery. I've long contended that this show is the best reality show on television. It consistently wins Emmy Awards. Hey,
American Idol ... what have you done for us lately? What? Eliminated Jamar and kept Tatiana and Nathaniel? Feh. Give me
The Amazing Race any day instead! I mean ... we're talking adrenalin rushes, excitement, flying wheels of cheese, and bungee jumping in the Alps! It beats drama queens no holds barred.

Kelly and Christy's impressions of Dallas not withstanding, I think that Dallas and Toni are the best son and mother team ever to be on
The Amazing Race. Of course, the only other mother and son I can think of was a few years back and they had issues. The Amazing Race, I ask that you please bear with me as I must go into an atypical anti-sports delaying my show rant. CBS, you do this to me every Sunday night. Knock it off. If it's not golf, it's football. If it's not football or golf, it's baseball. Enough already. If shows are going to be consistently delayed, just go ahead and schedule them an hour later. That way DVRs could be set, the CBS scheduling won't interfere with other networks, and I could actually watch a show in the 8 PM block if TAR isn't expected until 9 PM. None of this fifteen or forty-five minute stuff, delay to the hour if you must. And change those schedules around! Thank you.

No joke - I have had this same conversation before with friends. Same premise (person, place, and thing) and we came down to discussing "the Jessicas" too. The Biels. The Albas. The Langes. And yes - The Rabbits. However, the thought of getting crayon on my naughty bits never crossed my mind when I was talking about hopping (no pun intended) in the sack with Roger Rabbit's woman. Then again, I wasn't standing in a burning building while trying to fight off painful shit cramps.
