How does a nudist cheat on her husband?

That sounds like the opening of a joke, but it's actually the premise of this British commercial for fabric softener.

The funniest part of this ad is when the other guy starts taking his clothes off so he can run out of the house, the opposite of the classic "putting on your clothes quickly and getting out because the husband comes home" scenario. (Note: contains male buttocks.)

The Fashion Show: It's in the Cards - open thread

The Fashion ShowI figure that since Bravo was nice enough to air a new episode of The Fashion Show on last night ticked off Top Chef Masters fans by airing a new episode of The Fashion Show instead that we should talk about the show a bit. Who is watching this? Is it the poor man's Project Runway (coming soon to Lifetime), or does it have its own good points?

Get to know (and hate) the stars of Bravo's new prep school reality show

It's hard to tell which Bravo reality show to dislike the most. NYC Prep is in the running immediately. I can picture this getting a big following a la Gossip Girl. It has everything: money, sex, backstabbing, education, fashion. I want to say "where are their parents?" but I'm sure they OK'd all of this. The show starts on June 23.

My favorite line: "It's really hard to get into one of these exclusive prep schools because you have to be really strong academically but also very wealthy."

The Fashion Show: The Must Have (series premiere) - open thread

So, was The Fashion Show a worthy successor and/or replacement for Project Runway, or did it just scream "copycat" (or maybe "copycatwalk")? The first episode (video below or here) aired last night, with Isaac Mizrahi as host. Let us know what you thought about it.

The Fashion Show starts tonight

So you lose a really popular show (Project Runway - moving to Lifetime). What's a network to do? Well, you just start a similar show! Bravo's The Fashion Show starts tonight at 10PM. This one is hosted by Isaac Mizrahi and Kelly Rowland. Each week the winner will have their dress sold in an online store, and the season winner will get their own clothing line. Now I just wonder if people will actually watch this or just consider it a pretender and go over to Lifetime when the next Project Runway premieres. Here's a preview.

Model wannabes freak out at America's Next Top Model auditions - VIDEO

America's Next Top ModelIt's like that old saying, "Fashion doesn't kill people - models kill people."

For some reason, a giant fight broke out at the America's Next Top Model auditions at the Park Central New York Hotel in New York City yesterday afternoon. No one is sure what exactly started the craziness, but at the end there were a ton of shoes and other clothing scattered on the street outside of the hotel. If that wasn't enough, six people were injured (two seriously enough to be taken to the hospital) and three people were arrested. Check out the video after the jump of the crowd stampeding. Officials say that the show wasn't prepared for this many people showing up (ya think?). Also there seems to be a car spewing smoke involved and a woman getting slapped. Or something.

Maybe we need a real Fashion Police, not just one that talks about the clothing. Bad girls, bad girls...whatcha gonna do?

New season of Queer Eye coming this fall

Queer EyeI know, I know, you're thinking, "Whaaaaaa?"

Bravo's Queer Eye For The Straight Guy was cancelled a while ago, but there have been ten episodes of the show finished for quite some time now, and Whitney over at USA Today has found out that the last season of the show will start airing this fall.

Interesting how this show just completely fell off the radar, eh? People talk about this show the way they talk about "The Macarena." But it was a fun show there for a while. Oddly, the Bravo web site doesn't even have a page for it anymore, though they do have one for Queer Eye For The Straight Girl.

Jeffrey Sebelia's slightly disappointing post-Runway life

Jeffrey SebeliaLet me just come right out and say it: Jeffrey Sebelia, winner of Project Runway Season Three, is making costumes for the Bratz movie. Is that really the glorious post-Runway life? The cocky persona that Sebelia took on all season certainly led me to expect him to spend his prize money and fame on jetsetting and more neck tattoos to decorate his massive, massive neck, but, as it turns out, he isn't doing as great as one might expect. Not only is he quite broke, but ... did I mention his post-Runway project is doing the Bratz film? I was quite furious with him when he was on the program, but this article has actually made me -- dare I say it -- sympathize. Maybe he should have taken the Jay McCarroll route and skipped the winning contract to do his own thing.

By the way, I had no idea Season Two's Santino Rice was the one who encouraged Sebelia to audition for the program, let alone the fact that the two are buddies. I guess that's where Sebelia learned that the "cocky bastard" act would pay off.

Goodbye Queer Eye

Queer EyeQueer Eye For The Straight Guy, the once hugely popular makeover show on Bravo, has been canceled by the network. The series will have one last season coming up (titled Queer Eye: The Final Season). Design guru Thom Felicia gets his own show on the Style Network later this year.

This isn't a big surprise. Not only had ratings been dropping the last couple of years but the "buzz" that this show once had vanished completely. Personally, I got sick of all the "theme" blocks of episodes they did, like when the went to other areas of the country or did weddings. Nothing bores me more than planning a wedding, which I'm sure will thrill my fiancee in the future.

Project Runway 3 to air in July

Heidi KlumBravo has officially decided to start airing the third season of Project Runway this summer in order to use September's Fall Fashion Week for the finale (where the three finalists -- and one other designer who's just there to throw off spectators and will not be aired -- compete with collections instead of individual garments). An hour-long casting special will air July 12 at 9PM ET/PT, with the first episode premiering at 10PM.

If you've never seen the program before, I suggest you jump on the bandwagon with the first episode. It really is the classiest reality show on television.

[Thanks, orimental!]

Primetime TV becomes Home Shopping Network

kellie pickler nicole miller dressProduct placement doesn't even begin to describe this doozy. The fashions and furnishings from some television shows and movies will soon be available on a new website, called StarStyle. At least six production companies, including 19 Entertainment, which produces American Idol, will make clothing, furniture and other items seen on the shows available for purchase on the website. You can shop by show, product, or brand name. You can even shop by character, meaning that you can buy the same (but not the exact) Nicole Miller black dress that Kellie Pickler wore last week on Idol. Yes, you can also get the 'Ace' look. There are 'set tours', where you pick out and purchase furnishings from all sorts of shows including As the World Turns, Guiding Light, and The Young and the Restless. Soon, the website will also allow you to shop the fashions in music videos. Does that include gold teeth and Bentleys?

Wayans wants to trademark "Nigga"

damon wayansDamon Wayans has been struggling for over a year now to get the word "Nigga" trademarked for a line of clothing. Not surprisingly, his applications have been routinely rejected due to a law which states trademarked names must not be "immoral or scandalous." This, of course, opens up a whole philosophical can of worms. Is it okay for the name to be used on clothing if the man behind the clothing is black? Do opinions matter if they're from outside the target demographic? If Wayans ever does manage to launch his clothing line, I think the scandal alone could make it a very lucrative venture, something that surely isn't lost on him.

Laguna kids pimping Bongo

Pretty soon, you'll be seeing the kids from MTV's Laguna Beach: The Real O.C. all over the place. Six of them (Alex Murrel, Jason Wahler, Lauren Conrad, Stephan Colletti, Kristin Cavallari and Tallan Torriero) are part of a new advertising campaign by BONGO clothing that launches in fashion, entertainment and lifestyle magazines this Spring. The concept behind the campaign is a party. BONGO rented out a ritzy mansion in Orange County and let the kids do their thing as the band, The Colour, played on set. Alex Murrel, who has an album coming out this spring (who doesn't?), joined the band while the boys pushed each other into the pool, proving that they are barely out of high school. The Laguna clan replaces an ad campaign last year by BONGO that featured Nicole Richie and her ex-fiance, DJ AM.
