It's Festivus. Again. Already. Don't know how, but it is. This whole year has gone so quickly, leaving only a blur in my eyes and a weird taste in my mouth (a strange combination of lime soda and a squid dish I got from a street vendor once in Hong Kong). Following that line of weird, here's my weird list of weird things that I want for Festivus.
More comedy for history geeks: After writing my list of
Top Eleven Robot Buddies, I was struck by the terrible lack of history-related humor on today's television. Let's have another
Time Squad or
Clone High, shall we? Or give
Kate Beaton her own television show.

I'm sure at one point or another in every little kid's life, he or she has wanted to have a robot BFF. All the potential for wacky fun and scientific misadventures would make up for the inevitable human/binary language barrier, and, when I think about it, I still totally want a robot buddy. I mean, from my time on this Earth, of two things I am sure: Lists are fun and robots are awesome. So, despite the fact that my age numerically suggests I shouldn't be thinking about this sort of stuff, I am all over this list.
I should also note that, upon completion of this depressingly nerdy post, I am legally obligated to punch myself in the face for a solid fifteen minutes and then steal my own lunch money. Let's just get this over with, shall we? Here are the top eleven robot buddies from TV, in no particular order, because each robot is special in its own way. Also, I don't want any readers to kill me for not ranking to their liking.

Despite the fact that I'm part of MTV's target demographic, I don't really watch the network. I only tune in as I'm getting dressed in the early morning and MTV's running its morning music video block. For the rest of the day, MTV seems to avoid actually playing full music videos like the plague. Instead, they fill their programming schedule with awful reality shows about spoiled pre-teens and dating shows so depressing that contestants are even willing to
pee all over themselves to get out.
Now, please allow me to frolic about in my own fantasy world, in which I create my idea of MTV's perfect programming schedule. There are only five -- FIVE -- MTV shows that I would keep. That's right. Everything else should be full-on music videos. In my own MTV, there will be no
Laguna Beach, no
Pimp My Ride, and certainly no
Yo Momma (how did they manage to pitch that?!)

Do you guys remember Clone High? That cartoon on MTV about a high school
populated by clones of famous historical figures? You know, the show that Annie really liked? Well, there's actually
full episodes of the series on YouTube right now, so why not go check it out? The series originally aired in Canada
then came to MTV in 2002, when apparently I was spending all my time watching Adult Swim because I never actually saw
this show, though the clips I've checked out seem rather amusing. At any rate, some entertainment for your boring
weekend afternoon. Special thanks to rocko, who mentioned the episodes over on this post.
Update: Okay, the "Read" link below works now. Click for yummy Clone High
goodness. Thanks to Kevin.
