CBS announces big line-up for Fashion Rocks

Rihanna in a hatCBS and Condé Nast Media Group announced some heavy hitters for Fashion Rocks. The show, which coincides with New York's Fashion Week, will now include A-listers like Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Fergie, Mariah, Carey, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Duffy, Keith Urban, Kid Rock and Lil Wayne.

Okay, maybe they're not all A-listers. But all of them are performing.

AI7 Report Card: The season that was

AI7 Top 12We scoured the earth (and the archives at various record companies for failed projects that showed vocal promise) to create the greatest assemblage of singing talent American Idol has ever seen! So what happened? After last year's virtual snooze-fest, how did a season that truly did give us perhaps the greatest depth of talent we've ever seen (an argument could be made for Season Five) give us such lackluster shows?

After Sanjaya-gate last year, the biggest controversy to come out this year was that finalist David Hernandez used to be a stripper and David Archuleta's dad might be a Mr. Meany-Pants. And we got to be pissed that Kristy Lee Cook outlasted the likes of Michael Johns. Not until we got to the finale of Davids did things get really intense.

We have three episodes; the performance and results shows sandwiched around the two-and-a-half hour "Idol Gives Back" star-studded spectacular that aired last night. Finally we have the results show -- but will they pull the same thing as last year and nobody goes home? Join us, won't you, for another spectacular non-star-studded live chat during tonight's episode, starting just before 8:00pm ET.

You can join the chat by following this link. Look for the full episode review right here later tonight.

The O.C.: The My Two Dads

The OC(S04E09) So far everything about this season has been good. So I suppose it was inevitable that we'd get to a storyline that I'm not a big fan of. Of course I'm talking about Chris Brown. I really think he is a talented guy (he's got one hell of a singing voice), but this isn't the right venue for him to showcase his skills. His character (Will) just doesn't feel right.

It doesn't help that the storyline he's been tossed into is completely flat. Kaitlin has felt distant nearly the entire season and now it's further highlighted because the only character she's connected to just showed up. I'm not buying him as the dorky band-geek either. It feels forced for the sole purpose of creating the "beauty and geek" aspect between him and Kaitlin.

Alright, I'm done ranting about that. Let's move on to the rest of the episode. Can we talk about how much I love that Ryan's father is Hercules?

R&B star Chris Brown on The O.C.

Chris BrownDuring the MTV Video Music Awards, Chris Brown (whose song "Run It" has been playing on loop in my head, fighting strong against my attempts to drown it out with Radiohead) revealed that he has landed a role in the upcoming season of The O.C. He said that he will be playing a "band geek" in his seven episode stint, but I think it's just a weak cover-up by FOX. Something tells me that he's actually playing the mortal vessel that ends up carrying Marissa's ghost, occasionally speaking in her voice and pitching Neutrogena products. It'd be brilliant because no one would see it coming. Except me.
