This week, the First Criminal Court in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico dismissed charges against Duane "Dog" Chapman, who was arrested in 2003 on charges of illegal detention after capturing Max Factor heir Andrew Luster. The arrest eventually led to the A&E series Dog the Bounty Hunter.

Last September, Mexican authorities requested Chapman, his son Leland and his work partner Tim Chapman (no relation) be extradited to Mexico to face charges of leaving the country instead of staying for their court date. Chapman has said in interviews that they left the country on the advice of their legal counsel.

Earlier this month, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who plays Mr. Ecko on Lost, was arrested in Hawaii on charges of disobeying a police officer and driving without a license. Yesterday, in Waikiki district court, the actor's lawyer was able to get the charges dropped after proving to the court that the actor does indeed have a driver's license. Adewale spent six hours in jail and paid five hundred dollars when he was arrested, so it's not like he got off scot-free.

What I want to know is if he even showed up in court. I've been to traffic court before (don't ask... I blame overzealous suburban cops... anyway, it was ten years ago), and you basically have to stand in line with every speeder, stop-sign runner, and drunk driver that's been caught over the previous week. If he was there, I wonder if anyone recognized him; he's hard to miss, considering he's a pretty big guy.
