Last month, Isabelle told y'all the lineup for FOX this fall. Well, some changes have been made, so check them out below and be sure to change your wedding and baptism plans accordingly.
-
Bones will air Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m., starting September 25.
-
Kitchen Nightmares will air Wednesdays at 9:00 p.m., starting September 19.
-
Are Your Smarter Than A Fifth Grader will kick off its next season at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, followed by Don't Forget the Lyrics at 9:00 p.m. The two shows will air back to back on Thursday nights.
Meanwhile, New Amsterdam has been moved from September 25 to sometime midseason.
Also, as mentioned previously, Anchorwoman will debut on August 22 rather than August 21.
Minus the changes listed above, the aformentioned schedule is still correct.

Ever since I first heard about Hot Ghetto Mess, I've been intrigued. The new BET series courted some controversy from folks who felt it exploited black stereotypes, and at least two sponsors, State Farm Insurance and Home Depot, have pulled their ads. Both BET entertainment chief Reginald Hudlin and Jam Donaldson (creator of the HotGhettoMess.com site on which the new series is based) say the purpose of the series is to encourage people, in a humorous manner, to take a look at themselves and their communities and try to affect positive change. The series mixes user-submitted video clips with man-on-the-street interviews.
Speaking of change, the series is now called We Got to Do Better. The actual content of the show won't change, but the new title more clearly explains the intent of the series. I discovered this last night while trying to find Hot Ghetto Mess on my Tivo with no luck. The series, hosted by Charlie Murphy (Chappelle's Show) debuts tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10:30 p.m.

In April, I told you about NBC's The Great American Singing Bee, a new competition series in which contestants are challenged to sing the correct lyrics to a song. Then, recently, I told you about Don't Forget the Lyrics, a show on FOX with pretty much the exact same concept.
The Great American Singing Bee was supposed to air this fall, but NBC isn't about to let FOX steal its thunder by releasing Don't Forget the Lyrics next month. What does that mean for you, the home viewer? It means that this summer, with The Great American Spelling Bee's debut bumped up to July 10 at 9:30 (and Lyrics debuting the next day), you'll have two chances to catch a premise no one really found that interesting in the first place.
Forgive me, that was presumptuous, but I maintain a show centering on strangers butchering songs is a concept that will get old rather quickly.

Not too long ago I told you about a very cool (and very disturbing) video that showed what Homer Simpson would look like if her were an actual person. The video shows a normal-looking man slowly morphing into a Homeresque manifestation. The New Age music only adds to the surreal, nightmarish quality of it.
Well, Adnan Saleem, the person who created the video, sent us a note to let us know he's also done the same for Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. Watch as the line between comedy and complete, unholy terror is slowly erased before your eyes. And I mean that as a compliment, these videos are really cool, but c'mon, they're also really creepy, which is the point, I think.
The image on the right is another creation of Adnan's. It's Snowball II, of course.
Check out the videos here.

"Oh my god, one of them is a war veteran! We're gonna have to give him some change!"
Oh, South Park, I think I love you. You not only hilariously satirized how society has dealt with the homeless problem, but you also parodied Dawn of the Dead, one of my favorite movies of all time. There were also a couple nods to Day of the Dead and Land of the Dead tossed in for good measure. South Park, if you were a crazed, half-dead, hideously burned woman I would kiss your lipless face.

I love horror movies, and I've seen a lot of scary things in my time, but this might possibly be the most horrifying thing I've ever seen. Watch with a mixture of awe and complete abject terror as a relatively normal-looking guy slowly morphs into a humanoid version of Homer Simpson.
I think it's a pretty good likeness, though the eyes should be rounder and less almond-shaped. Still, who am I to complain? I wouldn't even know how to make something this cool, so kudos to the creator.
I must say, however, that I like artist Roberto Parada's "human" version of Homer Simpson a lot more. It's both beautiful and grotesque at the same time, and the bulging vein-y eyes really sell it.
There are also many examples of human actors portrayed as cartoon images. For example:

If you were looking forward to the fourth season premiere of
Las Vegas, you can just forget it man, because it like, ain't gonna be there, man. Sorry, I thought my posts would be more enjoyable to read if I used a voice similar to Dennis Hopper's character in
Apocalypse Now. I now see how wrong I was. Anyway,
Las Vegas fans, don't fret too much, the show is just being pushed back one week and will kick off its fourth season on Friday, October 27 at 9 pm, sandwiched between
1 Vs. 100 and a repeat of
Law and Order. It's the perfect schedule for people who like their nights packed with drama and game shows. Cheryl Ladd guest stars in the season opener in which Ed (James Caan) is attacked by an armed gunman. Also, Jewel performs three songs, but for some reason no one tries to shoot her.

(S02E11) When I watch shows in order to review them for TV Squad, I try to simply sit back and enjoy them as if I were any other fella sitting down to enjoy a TV show. In other words, I try not to get hung up on every little nuance and line of dialogue because I want to appreciate the show as it's meant to be, not turn it into some kind of archaeological dig where I over-examine every detail and completely suck the enjoyment out of the experience. I like to look for little details, of course, but I don't want to lose the whole package. This is my way. Yes, it is.
However, I can't completely neglect the blogger/writer part of me that knows he's going to be typing out something about the show once it's over, and some things I would normally ignore get stuck in my craw because of it. For instance, I thought this recent episode of Tom Goes to the Mayor was very funny, but there were two moments I felt were somewhat beneath the usual bizarre humor I expect from Tim and Eric. The first was a "Benny Hill" chase sequence, which has already been spoofed a million times, and a Scooby-Doo style "unmasking" at the end, which, to be fair, was pretty damn surreal, but I still felt it was a little too easy. These are minor complaints though, and the rest of the episode was pretty funny, I thought.
