Kathy Griffin dances her way into new ABC series

bravo_kathy_griffin_mikeAttention, attention! This is not a joke. It's not a spoof or a gag. Kathy Griffin will host a dance show for ABC. That's right, the funny lady of Bravo's My Life on the D-List, has said yes to hosting Let's Dance, a new celebrity reality show in which stars compete with one another by re-creating classic routines from pop culture. That means someone is going to try and do Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" dance from Motown's 25th Anniversary Special, don't you think?

I am not a Dancing With the Stars fan, but this show sounds like something I'd be interested in watching for a couple of reason. Number one is Kathy Griffin. I think she's hilarious. She also loves celebrities, so I could see her really getting into this show and being the perfect built-in zingmeister. She'll say whatever comes to her mind, and -- fortunately -- that's usually pretty funny.

Dr. Drew sends addicted viewers to Sex Rehab on VH1

Dr. Drew with take on sexual addition in VH1's Sex Rehab.Dr. Drew is taking on a sexier addiction, literally.

His new VH1 show, the unfortunately titled Sex Rehab With Dr. Drew (Is the title theme Motley Crue's' "Dr. Feel Good?") will take on celebrity sex addiction.

Addiction to alcohol and drugs, or eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia, are already familiar topics on reality TV. But the VH1 release announcing the new show reports that sex addiction is equally common -- yet harder to identify and more difficult for some to accept.

Think about it. How many comedians would make some crack along the lines of, "Where do I sign up? For the disease, not the cure."

Christian Slater talks about The Forgotten, life at 40, and his love of TV

Christian Slater The Forgotten interviewStealing scenes on the small screen is nothing new to Christian Slater. The actor, known for films like Heathers, True Romance and Pump up the Volume, has made memorable guest appearances on shows like Alias, The West Wing and My Name is Earl. His first shot at his own series, the NBC spy thriller My Own Worst Enemy, struggled to find an audience, leading the network to cancel it halfway through the first season.

Slater is back starring in a new series, The Forgotten, produced by CSI head honcho Jerry Bruckheimer. The ABC procedural follows a team of amateur detectives who work murder cases involving unidentified victims, or John and Jane Does. Slater plays former cop Alex Donovan, whose search for his missing daughter inspires him in the field.

I got the chance to talk with Slater about The Forgotten, his new career in TV, and what one of his most famous big screen characters would think about his latest role.

How long will Khloe and Lamar's marriage last?

Khloe Kardashian and Lamar OdomIt's getting harder and harder to keep up with the Kardashians. I know - why bother, right? But that krazy klan does keep me company while I work into the wee hours.

But when I heard that Khloe and her beau, Los Angeles Lakers star Lamar Odom, were getting married after just one month of seeing each other, all I could think was, really? And the kicker is that Khloe is all huffy over Kourtney getting back with her baby daddy Scott (at this writing anyway), and here she herself goes and gets hitched after knowing the guy for only one month.

Now E! is planning on airing their wedding in a special, hour-long episode of the family's reality show, titled "Keeping Up With the Kardashians: The Wedding." The pair were married earlier this week; the episode will air in November.

How long do you think the marriage will last? I say they'll split up before the the wedding airs.

Ask TV Squad: We need your questions!

TVSquadEvery now and then as I watch a show, questions such as these pop up in my mind: Where have I seen that actor before? Hasn't she already appeared on the show before as another character? What is that song playing in the background? Where has (insert character name) gone? And on and on.

I also have questions about current shows even when I'm not watching them: How many episodes will we get this season? When will the season premiere? Will (insert actor's name here) be back on the show? Which famous person will guest star? And so on. That's not counting the questions I have about upcoming storylines! Thank god for spoilers!

Of course, questions about series from the past also pop up: Why did (insert show here) end? Can I get answers for the unanswered storylines since the series was canceled without having a proper goodbye? Whatever happened to (insert actor's name) who played on (insert show's title)? And so on.

If you have questions about TV series and actors and want answers now, "Ask TV Squad" has the solution for you! Read on to learn how.

Sigourney Weaver: The TV Squad Interview

sigourney weaver in prayers for bobby
Sigourney Weaver is earning strong Emmy buzz for her lead performance in Lifetime's Prayers for Bobby. In her first TV movie, the three-time Oscar nominee plays a religiously conservative mother who refuses to accept her gay son.

The film, based on a true story, examines Mary Griffith's (Weaver) transformation from intolerant mother to gay-rights crusader after her son Bobby commits suicide. Weaver says she was drawn to Prayers for Bobby because, like the book of the same name, it has the potential to start important conversations about tolerance and acceptance in homes everywhere.

Sigourney Weaver talks Emmy buzz, Ghostbusters and Aliens

sigourney weaver prayers for bobby lifetimeSigourney Weaver starring in a Lifetime movie? It happened. It's called Prayers for Bobby, and the three-time Oscar nominee is racking up the Emmy buzz for her lead performance as a mother whose life is changed by tragedy.

I spoke with Weaver recently about the film, the Emmy buzz, her next big TV project and more. Here's a preview of that interview:

Weaver on the benefits of working for Lifetime, and other cable networks:

"I think Lifetime, along with other cable networks, show very compelling stories about what it is to be human in a way that a lot of films don't now, except for small independent films. They're interested in a smaller canvas and I think those stories are very helpful for people and I think that they bring us together."

Gossip stream says Dickinson packed up to Costa Rican hospital

Janice Dickinson ran out of luck when she ran out of water on her most recent reality show.A mysterious source close to the production of I'm a Celebrity! Get Me Out of Here! reports that Janice Dickinson tapped out of the show after being rushed to a Costa Rican hospital this weekend.

While some were hoping that she was institutionalized for a personality transplant, it turns out she was reportedly suffering from dehydration, depending on which source you find.

There's some debate on whether severe dehydration is more dangerous than actually being in a Costa Rican hospital, but she's said to be nowhere near the reality show's set.

Charity doesn't make for better TV

The contestants of I'm A Celebrity quickly get out of the tank.I can't watch I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! The show is basically Big Brother but with an unwillingness to compete. Why do celebrities sign up for physically and mentally demanding reality shows when they don't want to compete? I'm looking at you, Dustin Diamond. To attempt to get some viewer sympathy, the celebrities are playing for charity. I feel bad for the charities that Heidi and Spencer have because I wouldn't want their douchebag antics associated with the charity's image.

Celebrity reality shows can succeed without having to play the charity card. It's all about maintaining the quality level.

Jessica Simpson finds a new way to embarrass herself on TV

jessica simpson new reality showSome things in life are just inevitable. Your hair will turn gray, you'll have to pay taxes, and Jessica Simpson will always try to shove her particular brand of stupid in your face.

The former Newlyweds star is reportedly shopping around a reality TV show called The Price of Beauty. Here's the concept, according to a US Weekly source: "She and a friend set off on a road trip around the world in search of what people find beautiful and why."

Reports describe the show as an exploration on society's outlook of women's bodies ... with a bit of Fear Factor thrown in! I'm not kidding. The source continued, saying that Simpson will do "shocking things that women do to make themselves beautiful. Picture Fear Factor."

Alyson Hannigan gives birth to daughter, loses 'pregnancy brain' - VIDEO

hannigan denisof babyWho says TV can't change people's lives? How I Met Your Mother star Alyson Hannigan and husband Alexis Denisof, who met on the set of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, welcomed a baby girl into the world last week.

Satyana Denisof was born March 24, which also happens to be Hannigan's b-day (weird how that happens, huh?).

Here's some more weirdness. During her pregnancy, Hannigan appeared on Ellen DeGeneres' show and talked about having "pregnancy brain," aka short-term memory loss associated with pregnancy. Here's how she described it:

Is Melissa Rycroft a Star?

Melissa and Tony DovolaniThree months ago, if you asked me who Melissa Rycroft was I would have had no clue. I've never watched an episode of The Bachelor in my life. I spent my Mondays watching The Big Bang Theory and Jon & Kate Plus 8 and never got why or when they started the idea of rejected contestants becoming the bachelor/bachelorette.

Then out of nowhere, Nancy O'Dell has to pull out from Dancing with the Stars. The ABC executives shuffle and put Bachelor contestant Melissa Rycroft in her spot. Half of America is happy to see her rebound from national dumping; the other half doesn't know who she is. Thus the big question: Is Melissa Rycroft a star?

TV celebs wielding big sabers

christina hendricks mad men jedi chef light saberDo they cook? Not sure. Are they Jedi Knights? Errrrr, maybe? So what's the deal with Celebrity Jedi Chefs? We wish we knew. In their own words, they're [mostly] TV actors who "do the same sorts of things that 'normal' Jedi do, but [they] also cook." There are 216 of them, and most have appeared on buzzy sci-fi shows, including Heroes, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Battlestar Galactica.

We're not talking background players, either. Yeah, we're still stuck trying to figure out what Celebrity Jedi Chefs...is exactly (and if the pictures, as suggested by the fashion, were all magically taken in 1993), but we needn't hear any more if it means we get to see pictures of Joan Holloway (among others, after the jump) weilding a saber.

Dinner with a celeb! Ok, not really, but you can watch it on TV

NBC develops Celebrity Come Dine With MeOh, boy! Another opportunity to watch the rich and famous doing rich-and-famous stuff! Well, you know what? I talk to enough celebs to know that most of them are a lot like us. Only with more money, more problems, and way less privacy.

But I digress ... The object of my thoughts is a new celebreality show from NBC and Granada America. Each episode of Celebrity Come Dine With Me (working title, subject to change) will feature a big star hosting a dinner party for four of their fabulous friends. At the end of the evening, the party will be judged by its presentation, food, and entertainment value.

The show is based on a format owned by Granada and has aired in 16 countries, including the U.K., where it's aired for four seasons since 2005. But most of those shows have featured non-famous contestants. What fun is that? It'd be like eating dinner at your neighbor's house.

Monk: Mr. Monk Gets Lotto Fever

Monk fears(S07E03) "You used to be a superstar and now you're Garfunkel."

I never realized that Mr. Monk likes being a celebrity. This episode really underscored that fact. When the uniformed cop asks for his autograph and then he talks to the guy's nephew, Monk is giddy as he tells Natalie that the kid thinks he's "Cooler than Spider-man?" Autographs and ego. I didn't realize that Monk enjoyed his status.

Meanwhile, in a really odd turn, the body is just laying there. What a cavalier attitude about showing the body, I mean that's kind of unusual for an episode of Monk. There was no sheet over the body. And the killing was pretty vicious. The aggressiveness of the killer, the way he chased her, then stabbed her three times, suggested passion to me, but it was all a red herring.
