I remember seeing the classic magic trick Metamorphosis performed by several magicans over the years. It's the one where there's a giant box, and the woman assistant is tied up, put in a bag, and then put the box, which is then padlocked. The magician stands up on the box, puts a curtain around him, and in only two seconds, the two switch positions. He's now in the box, tied up in the bag, and the assistant is on top of the box.
That came to mind after watching this. It's two quick change artists from America's Got Talent. They change clothing very quickly, while moving, in real time, in front of an audience. While you can come up with explanations for Metamorphosis (and that masked magician explained the trick on one of those TV specials a few years back), I can't figure out how the hell they did this. Any guesses?
One thing's for sure though. Madonna and Cher should hire these two for future tours.

Singer/actress Brandy guest-hosted on The View earlier this week and she's scheduled to return to Star's seat on Friday. Of course, ABC isn't saying a word about whether she's up for the job, but guest hosting is how Elisabeth Hasselbeck got her seat at the table. I didn't see this week's episode with Brandy, but I read that she pretty much stayed quiet and, even so, Barbara Walters gushed about her at the end of the show.
According to People, Brandy will be a guest-host on The View next Wednesday and Friday. She's currently on America's Got Talent, playing judge between David Hasselhoff and that one English guy that was clearly put there for "Simon" purposes, but this stint on The View might lead to a permanent spot. Apparently, ABC wants to "audition" different people before picking a replacement for Star Jones (similar to what CBS did before finally deciding on Craig Ferguson for the Late Late Show).
Even though I still cringe at the poor grammar in the title, last night was the first time I watched America's Got Talent. My favorite thing about it was David Hasselhoff! I adore the attitude he brings to the show. While Brandy tries to be diplomatic and, well, Paula Abdul-like and the British guy (Piers) tries to be Simon, Hasselhoff is a unique character. Piers and Brandy are quick to push their buttons (a la The Gong Show), but Hasselhoff likes to watch a train wreck unfold on stage. And I respect that. He is frequently the last to push his button during a bad performance, unless it's a juggler- because Hasselhoff HATES JUGGLERS!
The first episode of the new talent show America's Got Talent - a two hour episode - got fantastic ratings the other night for NBC. Over 12 million people tuned in, making it the night's #1 show and the top show among 18 to 49 year olds, too. It was the highest NBC has done in that Wednesday time period since the Winter Olympics a couple of years ago.
The judges have been announced for Simon Cowell's new NBC talent show, America's Got Talent. They are singer/actress Brandy, British media guy Piers Morgan, and ... David Hasselhoff! Oh, I hope he performs at some point on the show, maybe in a jumpsuit with sequins.
