The ladies of
The Real Housewives of New York City are, needless to say, a colorful bunch. The
Bravo franchise seems to have hit its stride, with each cast of
Housewives providing their own flavor. But in comparison to
Orange County and
Atlanta, the ladies of New York seem especially weird. Perhaps it's apropos to their all living in a city with crazy people at every corner, but whatever the case may be, these gals are bonkers.
Sure, the show may just be a well-delivered product of sneaky producers and menacing editors, but somebody's doing
something right in bringing out the bizarre nuances of Jill, LuAnn, Alex, Ramona, and Bethenny - although she, of the whipsmart one-liners and catchphrases, seems to be the crowd favorite (judging by ... conversations I've had with people).

Grey's Anatomy really took off this year after that sex-filled episode following the Super Bowl. So, ABC showed its gratitude by giving the main cast members $200,000 bonuses. That's enough to take a super nice vacation, buy a really awesome car, or a decent house in Peoria, Illinois.
The cast members receiving $200,000 bonuses are: Ellen Pompeo, Patrick Dempsey, James Pickens Jr., T.R. Knight, Sandra Oh, Katherine Heigl, Chandra Wilson, Isaiah Washington, Justin Chambers and Kate Walsh. Pretty much the entire cast of regulars.
Despite the sizable bonuses, the actors are reportedly still pushing Disney to re-negotiate their contracts since they went from small-time to mega-hit last season. It's a reasonable request (or, perhaps, an omen). The four main actors in
Desperate Housewives also received $200,000+ bonuses and raises after the first season.

An article in the LA Times details just how much cash the two head honchos at Disney are raking in these days.
Be prepared: you may turn green with envy. Or, just at the thought of all that money. Chief Executive Robert Iger got a
33% raise when he took over in October, bringing his annual income to $2 million. Wait. There's much, much more. If
Disney does well, he will get to enjoy a $7.25 million bonus (whose bonus is nearly four times their annual salary???).
He also received 500,000 shares of restricted stock. Restricted? I guess that means he can't sink it into Pixar, eh?
Michael Eisner, on the other hand, earned $1 million in regular salary, plus a $9.1 million bonus. That's nowhere near
the income he got in 1998 when he exercised some stock options that had been accumulating for years, and made $576
million. Eisner retired on September 30th but he will continue to received bonuses in the sum of $7.5 million through
September of 2007. But don't worry about Michael Eisner. He'll be okay. He has a
job at CNBC.
