Review: Curb Your Enthusiasm - The Black Swan

Jeff Garlin and Larry David
(S07E07) "Look, it may have been an accident, but you're a murderer." - Marty

Blame is a funny thing. In the absence of facts, the owner of the blame (i.e. the person at fault), is about one thing and one thing only -- public perception. Spin a good yarn and you can make 'em believe whatever you want. However, when you're Larry David, getting past the hurdle of your own reputation can be an issue. If you listen to even half the stuff that Larry says, why would anyone want to believe a guy like him?

Curb Your Enthusiasm: Funkhouser's Crazy Sister (season premiere)

(L-R): Bob Einstein, Larry David, and Jeff Garlin
(S07E01) "I'd rather have the thieves than the neighbors - the thieves don't impose." - Larry

Larry David is back, and I feel uncomfortable. Awkward moments, off-color comments, and instances of sheer disgust were all there in tonight's season premiere of Curb Your Enthusiasm. If you sit back for a second and actually consider all the different elements that made up this episode, it's pretty impressive. More often than not, an episode of Curb is just as intricately plotted out as an episode of Lost.

Six characters from other shows whom we wish were Cylons - VIDEO

battlestar galactica sci fiBattlestar Galactica is premiering! Did you know that? BSG is starting again. Ten eps left. Best show ever. Can. Not. Wait. Especially because we need to know the identity of the final Cylon!

Look, we're so crazy excited for the season premiere that the only thing we could do to keep ourselves from going a'spoiler-hunting was to create a wishlist. Below are six characters from other shows throughout history whom we imagine share the same genetics as those frakkin' Toasters.

The new Match Game celebrity panel

Bob Einstein as Super DaveIt certainly won't be the only factor, but the choices made for just who makes up the celebrity panel will go a long way in deciding the fate of this latest incarnation of the classic show. With that in mind, here is the celebrity panel from the recently taped pilot: Sarah Silverman, Norm MacDonald, Bob Einstein (Super Dave!), Scott Thompson (Kids In The Hall), Rashida Jones (The Office), and Niecy Nash (Reno 911). Andrew Daly (Crossballs) is the host.

How does that lineup grab ya? To me, it's not bad. The Reuters article asks if Sarah Silverman is the new Brett Somers or Norm MacDonald is the new Richard Dawson. In a word, no. You just can't fight that kind of nostalgia. So many of us have seen the classic episodes so many times, and have such fond memories of them, that I don't think there is anything they could possibly do to begin to live up to the original.

The best and the brightest: My favorite Bluth employees - VIDEOS

Bob EinsteinA high profile family like the Bluth clan requires a large staff to meet its needs. They need to keep up the image (make that illusion) of their lifestyle, after all. Yacht crews, maids, and Segway repairmen are basic necessities. The skilled professionals were the ones that kept the Bluths going. Here are a few of my favorites:

Gene Parmesan (Martin Mull) - As private eyes go, Gene was not a top-notch detective. If he spent more time investigating and less time on his disguises, he might have discovered George Sr.'s infidelity back in the day. I can't decide which is funnier: Gene's satisfied smirk whenever he took off his disguise, or Lucille's screams when he tricked her. It's a shame that Martin Mull only stuck around for a single episode. Perhaps the writers wanted to let Gene leave on high note after locating George Sr. and hanging out with G.O.B.

Arrested Development: Mr. F - VIDEO

David Cross as a mole

(S03E05) To borrow a phrase from Saved!, "Mr. F" is the episode that confirmed fans' suspicions about Rita's "differently-abledness." George Michael celebrated a birthday, Maeby continued her double life as a studio executive, and Tobias got the wrong idea yet again.

Funnyman Albert Brooks cast on Weeds

Albert BrooksOne of the funniest guys in show business is coming to TV; and not just voices like he's done on The Simpsons. E! News has reported that Albert Brooks will appear in four episodes of Weeds for in the upcoming season. The Showtime comedy returns with new episodes beginning June 16.

Albert Brooks -- whose real name is Albert Einstein (and his brother is comic Bob Einstein, aka Super Dave Osborne) -- has been making people laugh for nearly four decades. I distinctly remember his bits on Love, American Style and his hilarious films on Saturday Night Live circa 1975.
