Cartoon Network has been adding some shows to iTunes, and the most recent addition is Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. All episodes from the first season are available for the usual $1.99 per episode, or you can download the entire season for $19.99. Sorry if I sound like a shill for iTunes and Cartoon Network, but I thought this was pretty cool news, and Foster's is one of my favorite cartoons to come along in a long time. Moreover, I like seeing cartoons made available this way, as I think they work quite well even when viewed on a tiny iPod video screen. Johnny Bravo and Squirrel Boy are still available as well, though my nine year old nephew recently gave the thumbs down to Squirrel Boy. Since I've never seen that cartoon I'll just have to take his word for it.

If you're a fan of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, you might find this interesting. Creator Craig McCracken is posting, in real-time, a step-by-step description of everything that goes into creating an episode of the series. You'll have to check the production blog every day to see how they're coming along. The first step, naturally, is coming up with a story idea, which Cracken says is usually based on a certain character rather than some mere "concept." I guess that's a good approach, and it seems to have worked pretty well for them so far. The blog is still pretty new, so there's not a lot of stuff on it yet, but check out the archives anyway for some cool early sketches of the characters.

Ah, this is very cool. Brand new episodes of one of my favorite Cartoon Network series, the Flash-animated
Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, kick off on July 17 at 7 p.m.
ToonZone has the scoop on some of the new episodes, which include a slumber party at Mac's house, and an episode where the whole gang gets locked out of the house. The series will be entering its fourth season, and I recommend it to anyone who likes cartoons, and especially to any parents out there who want to watch something that's appropriate for kids but doesn't put adults to sleep, either. Mac and his imaginary pal Bloo will also be hosting the network's summer lineup along with special guests from other Cartoon Network shows.

I don't play video games much anymore. I think the last game I had any real interest in was Mario Kart on the N64. Frankly, they've become too convoluted for my tastes, and I tend to like puzzle games and other "boring" stuff like that. At any rate, since I'm a big fan of
Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and have been spending the last few days watching the plethora of episodes I've Tivoed, I kept seeing commercials for an online game based on the show called
Big Fat Awesome House Party. Curiosity got the better of me so I decided to check it out, and it's actually a lot of fun for both kids and immature adults like myself. You create your own imaginary friend (I named mine "Crumple") and then wander about the home, making friends, doing chores, playing games, and advancing to new levels as you complete different tasks. If you're a fan of the show, you should definitely check it out, and even if you're not, it's a fun way to waste time while at work.
