Why doesn't NBC just remake The Magician?

NBC canceled Southland and they canceled Trauma. But they're interested in a crime-solving magician.

The network has given the greenlight to a pilot for a new drama that will feature a magician who solves crimes. It will be produced and directed by Jon Amiel and written by NCIS' Dan Fesman. No title yet, but I bet NBC will lean towards something like The Magician (hey, it's sorta like The Mentalist!) instead of something lame like Hocus Pocus or Now You See It or something other magic cliche.

Of course, NBC already had a show called The Magician that was about... a crime-solving magician! I loved this show. It starred Bill Bixby, pre-Hulk. It's the show Mulder was watching when Samantha was kidnapped.

What the heck is this?

The Magician

This is the game where we show you a picture from something TV-related and you have to guess what the heck it is.

The screen cap above is from the opening of a short-lived TV show from many years ago. The cuffs might give you a clue. This person got into adventures that most men in his profession never encountered. Answer later tonight.

Kim Cattrall: The TV Squad Interview

Kim CKim Cattrall is hot. Hot as in busy as well as in looking good. She's also smart, funny, observant and remarkably candid. Recently, I spoke with her for TV Squad about the success of the Sex & the City movie, her new HBO project Sensitive Skin, and a whole lot of other things, including Star Trek, aging, Universal TV in the 1970s and more.

Allison Waldman: When Sex & the City ended, you didn't want to do the movie. Now it's done and it's a huge success.

Kim Cattrall: It's extraordinary. I look back four years ago when this was a runaway idea, I just did not feel ready to do it. We had reached such a high point, I wasn't sure I had anything else to say. I also had incredible personal challenges. My marriage was coming apart, also, my dad was diagnosed with dementia. I really needed a time out.

AW: How did the movie come back around?

KC: Michael Patrick King called and said, 'I'm writing something and I think you're going to love it. ...I think you were right to say no when you did because of whatever reasons you had.' See, I had never been public about my reasons I felt that it was nobody's business.

It's Hulkamania for American Gladiators

The Incredible HulkSome serious cross-promotion will take place on the June 9 episode of American Gladiators. NBC is airing a special Incredible Hulk-themed installment of the series known for its muscle-bound warriors decked out in spandex and oil.

The Incredible Hulk
feature film, directed by Louis Leterrier and starring Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, Tim Roth and William Hurt, hits theaters four days later on June 13.

The Gladiators episode will feature guest star Lou Ferrigno (who played the green guy on the 1970s TV series) sharing the spotlight with host Hulk Hogan.

Incredible Hulk coming to DVD on July 18

Lou FerrignoUniversal has offically announced that the entire first season of The Incredible Hulk, the 70s action show with Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno that I loved for about a year, will be coming out on July 18. It will be a 4 DVD set, with both TV films and the 10 episodes from the first season.

Universal is notorious for not having many extras on their TV DVDs, but fans will be happy to know that this set will have two extra features: a commentary track and special interview/intro with Ferrigno. Which is good, because you don't want to make Hulk fans angry. You wouldn't like them when they're angry.
