Here are seven people who used their reality TV notoriety to their advantage. They have found success in other TV genres, film, or entrepreneurial pursuits. Some just found more fame in the genre that put them on thee map.
7. Colleen Haskell (Survivor): Colleen was in the first season of
Survivor (Borneo) and while she didn't outwit, outplay and outlast the other cast members, she did make a good run of her fifteen minutes. She finished sixth in her season but was such a genuine and fair player that when her torch was extinguished Richard Hatch called her a "wonderful person." Using her American-apple-pie-pretty-girl-next-door appearance and attitude, she parlayed her reality TV fame into more roles in both television and film. She did a Blistex commercial and had a guest spot on
That 70's Show. Most notably, however, she starred alongside Rob Schneider in
The Animal (2001). Pretty good for a Catholic school girl from a small town in Maryland.

(S04E06) No one seems to know who to get rid of and there is lots of last minute scrambling to try and decide who is the bigger threat, Diane or Nakomis. Nakomis steps up her game and makes her case to the SeaSick alliance promising to help them get rid of Chilltown and Diane generally tries to not be quite so much of a mess. This week the voting doesn't seem to be along alliance lines. The voting clips they show prove that, after all Will and Boogie vote differently as do Season Sixers Janelle and James. What is going on here? Are the alliances starting to splinter already?

(S04E05) Diane and Nakomis have very different strategies for dealing with nomination. Diane weeps and says that most people in the house have jobs and lives but that she has nothing. Nakomis dyes her hair orange and yellow. Which is the better strategy? I have no idea but I prefer the way Nakomis handles things.
As predicted, the SeaSick alliance is frustrated by Kaysar's move to not nominate Chilltown. Janelle calls him a pansy and James just seems flabbergasted since it's common knowledge that Will and Boogie don't exactly keep deals.

(S04E03) The live eviction episodes are always a chance for the Chenbot to demonstrate her most robotic speaking patterns. I wonder what her voice was like growing up (did she go to high school or was she built in a lab somewhere?). But this week, there must have been a glitch in her operating system, she actually made a mistake and I think her voice rose half an octave.
The first few evictions aren't full of a lot of heat and this one is a no-brainer. It occurs to me that Alison is deeply clueless, she manages to alienate nearly everyone before the vote. Meanwhile Danielle schemes quietly, playing up her need to take care of her family (her rationale from her previous season). I love Marcellas. In describing the choice between Alison he asks how do you choose between gonorrhea and the clap. Okay, they are the same thing but still a great line. And I think that most of the household agrees. But still a choice has to be made.
