Okay, now that it's behind us, we can say that
Lindsay Lohan's turn on Ugly Betty was pretty lame. However, I have hope that other guest stars will do much better. Therefore, the news that Broadway star -- multiple Tony winner --
Bernadette Peters will appear on Ugly Betty is a good thing. Just the name of the character she's playing, Jodie Papadakis, is funny.
Please, please, let this be a sign of good things to come, because
Ugly Betty could use an injection of good stuff. So far this season, the show has lurched around searching for its comedic soul.

Emmy and Grammy award winner Harry Connick, Jr. will star in the
Lifetime original movie called Living Proof. The movie, currently being filmed in Connick's hometown of New Orleans, is produced by Renee Zellweger, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron who all worked on
Chicago together. The film is about Dr. Dennis Slamon, the UCLA doctor who developed a drug for breast cancer.
Living Proof tells the true story of this doctor's struggle to keep the drug trials going and save the lives of thousands of women.

Hairspray), Angie Harmon (
Women's Murder Club), Swoosie Kurtz (
Pushing Daisies), Bernadette Peters (

Adam definitely has me beat), I'm happy to announce that season two of
The Muppet Show will be available on DVD
on August 7th. It's been about 2 years since season one came out on DVD and fans have been not-so-patiently waiting for more.
Season two is a 24-episode set with classic guest appearances by Bob Hope, George Burns, John Cleese, Milton Berle, Elton John, Bernadette Peters and Julie Andrews, just to name a few. The bonus material includes
The Muppets Valentine Day Special, a pilot which aired two years before
The Muppet Show came on air. It features Kermit and Mia Farrow, and is hosted by little-known Muppet 'Wally'.

(S03E22) The opening of this episode made me laugh out loud throughout the entire credits. It's things like this that remind me why David E. Kelley is as successful as he is. So brilliant.
The line of the night had to be, "Human rights are so yesterday." I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Having Denny and Alan work on this case together was perfect. Without getting on my soapbox, I loved the statement it made about the Iraq war and the current state of the government but more importantly it pointed out that, like Alan & Denny, Americans who have different points of few can all work together for a common goal. As a liberal, who often insists he is right, I consider myself schooled.

S08E09) I can't decide what I liked better about this episode-- Bob Saget or the return of Mariska Hargitay. Det. Olivia Benson comfortably slipped back in to being Det. Elliot Stabler's partner without much fanfare. No fanfare, really. She barely got a "Welcome Back" from Elliot. Casey was cold toward her, even though Olivia came back in time to help her get a conviction on a rape case. I think Det. Munch gave her the warmest reception. All these police types: bottling up their emotions! Sheesh!

NBC has announced a whole list of special guests for one upcoming episode of
Law & Order: SVU. Bob Saget, Chris Sarandon, Catherine Bell and Bernadette Peters will all appear in the November 28th episode of
SVU, called "Choreographed".
The case is about a woman found dead in Central Park. Sarandon plays her husband, Saget and Bell play the victims' friends, and Peters plays the defense attorney. There is a new episode of
SVU tonight, and I believe it is Connie Nielsen's last episode.

It was recently announced that the 60th annual Tony Awards will go hostless this June 11, because "the 60th Anniversary show is bigger than just one host". Or maybe no one wanted to step up and take the chance of getting ripped apart by the public if things don't run smoothly. Anyway, instead of following the lone emcee tradition, this year's show at Radio City Music Hall will be carried by 60 different stars, including Julia Roberts, Oprah Winfrey, Bernadette Peters, and Hank Azaria.
Back in 2004, MTV's Video Music Awards went hostless, and I remember feeling somewhat disoriented while watching it. Whether this was because I was watching MTV or because it was hostless, is still up for debate.
