(S02E23) The thing I liked most about this finale was how what we've come to think was the "main mystery" of the season was really only a consequence of how early it started. Several lasting mysteries (for lack of a better term) were resolved or came into play significantly in this episode, some even likely running into next season.
Once again, let's quickly go over each family's main points from tonight:

That's one of the revelations in this
USA Today piece about the
Desperate Housewives season finale (this Sunday) and plans for next season.
Denton was unhappy about what was happening to the character of Mike (nothing), so he approached producers about having Mike leave the show so he could pursue other projects. But producers assured him there were plans for Mike (and maybe Susan too? Hmmm ...)
Denton and others on the show agree that this second season has been a letdown, and hint that there are big changes in store for season three. One idea they had, which was eventually scrapped, was to have the dead Rex come back to narrate the show, a la the dead Mary-Alice. But she'll continue to be the show's narrator. Personally, I think having Steven Culp come back and narrate the show would have been a neat idea.

"I'm so over rice."
Finally! It's another episode full of those zingy one-liners I so longed for, sympathetic characterization, and
what's even better: fantastic hair. My sister and baby-sitter were over for dinner and, as we shoveled in cassoulet,
the whole living room was cracking up when Bree caught Danielle having a little tryst with the Applewhite
hottie. "Danielle, question: is there a black man hiding under your bed?"
There were plenty of reasons to crack up tonight, and that's why we love the Housewives.
Also: I love it when my favorite ladies look this good. And tonight? Hot. Very hot. It seems as if every last one
of them has been through a high-class version of makeover day on America's Next Top Model. Teri Hatcher
somehow managed to look slim but not gaunt, and not a day over 34. Bree looked right off the red carpet with her
fabulous body-full poufy 'do. Gabi must have gotten a lovely black rinse, she looked stunning and, for once, not
totally slutty.
