My Name is Earl: The Camdenites (season finale) - VIDEO

Randy and his lady(S03E21 / S03E22) "Whoa, not on the menu!" - Earl Hickey

In the entire run of this series, I have never been more sympathetic to any of Earl's situations than the one he is in now. What is a man to do when he has a full-on hottie in his bed and everything she does drives him nuts? I see now why Billie and Frank got along so well.

The sad part is that it seems like Earl is destined to be shackled to women who are just plain evil. Karma takes him to Billie, he can't seem to get away from Joy and any time he meets a woman who seems half way sane, his list gets in the way. I can only hope this is all part of karma's master plan.

Nathan Fillion, Alyssa Milano up for leads on ABC

alyssa milano; nathan fillionAs a Firefly fan, I'll lead this story with the Nathan Fillion news. Fillion is reportedly in negotiations for a starring role in an ABC comedy called Castle. It's described as a "comedic procedural about a famous mystery novelist helping the NYPD solve crimes". Fillion is up for the role of that famous novelist. That sounds like his cup of tea, doesn't it? He has comedy in his blood, but can also bring on the drama when necessary. Currently, Fillion has a recurring role on Desperate Housewives and just finished filming a movie called Chilled in Miami.

Alyssa Milano currently has a recurring role on My Name is Earl (I assume she's still there -- haven't seen last night's episode yet). She is in talks to star in an untitled project for ABC about a young woman "who tries to break free of her overbearing and dysfunctional family, friends and boss." It's a single-camera comedy. Kind-of sounds like Samantha Who? but without the amnesia schick.

My Name is Earl: Killerball(S03E18) " I got shoulder-humped by a doberman...to completion." - Tiffany Henson

I was wondering when the hospital would get around to giving Earl the boot. It only makes sense that Camden County's health care facilities are run just like everything else in the area. I love the idea of Camden Cash. I think I'll pitch the idea to some of our overcrowded hospitals here in Los Angeles.

Remember a few weeks ago, when I said how much I envied Jason Lee? Well, after seeing him wedged in that shopping cart and bounced around in that wheelchair, I am forced to rescind that statement. It's good to see Mr. Lee is still willing to work for a living.

Eddie Steeples(S03E16) "This is what someone told me reading a book is like." - Randy Hickey

I really can't decide if the writers for Earl are geniuses or drunks. Right when people start to complain that the show is getting stale they take it in a new direction that no one could see coming and yet is perfectly believable.

A big part of why I love this show is seeing the flashbacks where Earl was a complete reprobate. Even better is seeing Randy as the same kind of reprobate and yet just as simple. Joy, of course, remains exactly the same, no matter where or when she is, even if she's only in Earl's imagination.

My Name is Earl: Bad Earl

Jason Lee(S03E13) "There's no room at the motel and it's Christmas eve. Just like Jesus' baby." -- Randy Hickey

I don't know about you but I really have a problem watching holiday episodes after New Years. I guess, like many people, I have just had enough "holiday cheer" and when I see those references, I feel like I'm watching an old episode. Maybe I should just be happy that there are new episodes at all.

As I've said before, I always love to see recurring characters. Seeing Ralph and gay Kenny actually crossing paths was one of the high points of this episode.

My Name is Earl: Frank's Girl

Rapaport, Milano and Lee(S03E06) I was wondering when they would get around to conjugal visits. Quite frankly, when i found out Alyssa Milano was going to be on the show, conjugal visits were all I could think about.

This storyline is exactly what I was talking about in my last review. Earl doesn't need a list to do good things. He will always be karma's bitch. List or no list, he has to help people with their problems and now that he's locked up, he can spend more time helping his friends and family. Besides for all you list lovers, he now has a new one, so quit complaining.

Top TV witches

The Worst Witch AOL TV released a list of the top 18 TV witches. The list is exhaustive including everyone from classical TV witches to daytime witches and BBC witches.

This list even made me a little nostalgic. After reading about Miss Cackle and Mildred from the 1986 TV movie The Worst Witch, I think I might have to check my TV listings to see if the movie will get an encore presentation in the days leading up to Halloween. I totally forgot that Mildred was played by Fairuza Balk who obviously used her Worst Witch time to develop her later role in The Craft. With those piercing blue eyes, dark hair and bright red lipstick, she really does make a good witch.

Earl gets Charmed

Alyssa MilanoCharmed fans rejoice! Alyssa Milano will be back on the small screen this fall. However, it will be in a role and in a TV series quite opposite of what her role of Phoebe Halliwell and Charmed were all about.

Since The WB's Charmed ended in May 2006, Milano has not done much acting, leaving her dedicated fans out cold. Actually, if you look at her IMDb profile, you can notice that she had a role in a TV pilot that wasn't picked up and has two upcoming movies. But still nothing her fans can chew their teeth on in the near future. This will change when Milano guest stars in NBC's My Name Is Earl.

Spoilers after the jump!

Sam Micelli lives on in Alyssa Milano's Dodgers blog

Alyssa MilanoIn response to Bob's post about celebrity blogs, one of our readers, Galley, suggested we check out Alyssa Milano's blog on MLB.com. So, being a fan of baseball and an, uh, "admirer" of Milano, I decided to go over and check it out.

Essentially a promotional vehicle for her line of women's baseball wear, the blog shows that Milano -- a Dodgers season ticket holder -- really does know her stuff. She quotes venerable Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully, and speaks about her team with the same passion and attention to detail as Sal from Brooklyn or any of the Joe Six-Packs that call into sports radio shows across the country.

Child actresses from '80s TV that became hot adults

Keshia Knight PulliamDid you ever think when you were watching a pre-teen Keshia Knight Pulliam play a no-longer-cute Rudy on the last years of The Cosby Show that she was going to grow up to become a slamming hottie? Neither did I. But if you've seen her act or host one of those child star clip shows recently, you know that's exactly what happened. She's one of the more surprising entries on this list of ten child actresses from 1980s TV shows that became hot adults, courtesy of our new best friends at Wikia.com.

Meeting Milano

Alyssa MilanoShortly after I moved to Hollywood, I went on a very important audition. I didn't know it at the time but it would be an audition that changed my perception of Hollywood.

It was the afternoon and I was meeting with the casting director for a straight to cable movie. For this particular audition, I was wearing, what I call, my Masters jacket. It's a green suit jacket that looks great on me, if I do say so myself. The reading went great and I was asked to come back later to audition for the director. As I was leaving, the casting director said to me, "Nice jacket." to which I replied, "Thanks, I just won the Masters." She laughed and I figured that this audition was in the bag. Then came the callback.

Alyssa Milano is back in new ABC comedy

Alyssa MilanoThose of you who watched Charmed solely because you had an unyielding crush on Alyssa Milano can come back off the ledge. Your favorite gal has signed on to do a new comedy pilot for ABC, tentatively titled Me and Everyone Else. In the multi-camera comedy, she'll play what producer Dan Bucatinsky (who last worked on Lisa Kudrow's The Comeback) calls "Rhoda with a sex life." In other words, she'll play a strong thirty-something woman trying to make her way in the world. But unlike Valerie Harper's classic role from the seventies, Milano's character, Mia, will have a boyfriend. The show will also look at the lives of the two of them as well as Mia's brother and her brother's boyfriend.

Do all these details really matter, though, to most Alyssa fans? Not particularly. As long as she's there and somehow shows off her chest in every episode, most of them will be happy.

Mr. Belvedere on ice

bowserYou know, I had forgotten all about my 80s school boy crush on Alyssa Milano until I watched this clip (it's after the jump). She, along with Jason Bateman, introduces footage of Mario Brothers On Ice (or whatever it was called) with none other than Christopher Hewett (aka "Mr. Belvedere") playing Bowser. Apparently Bowser has attempted to unleash a virus into the world, and only Mario and Luigi can stop Bowser and his minions using some kind of large smoking crotch gun. It's essentially a six-and-a-half minute commercial for Super Mario Brothers, but whatever, I just couldn't look away.

Charmed: Forever Charmed (series finale)

The Halliwell sisters of Charmed.(S08E22) No sir, I didn't like it. Didn't like it one bit.

I'm talking about the series finale of the WB's Charmed , which ended its eighth and final season on Sunday night. What should have been a great sendoff by producers and writers for the Halliwell sisters Piper (Holly Marie Combs), Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) and Paige (Rose McGowan) was flat, disappointing, and focused more on the secondary players than The Charmed Ones.

However, that's not the reason why I disliked the episode. The thing that ticked me off was the magical device that Piper, the oldest sister, used in order to save Phoebe and Paige form a horrible death that they encountered last episode. A device that, in my opinion, is the lazy way out of resolving issues.

I'm talking about . . . .wait for it . . . time travel. Aarrrgh!
