What You Missed Last Night: Craig talks about Dave
I agree with Joel: Letterman should stop talking about his scandal (I also have a problem with the way he keeps referring to it as "I had sex with women who work here" and not just "I had affairs" or "I had relations with"). Last night, Craig Ferguson knew he had to address the issue somehow, and here's how he did it.
Now I know why Stephanie Birkitt was a tough interview to get
In the wayback days of my entertainment journalism career (2004, to be precise), I had written a few poorly-executed but fun articles for a wonderful little site called Knot Magazine (not to be confused with The Knot, a website which I'm unfortunately all too familiar with these days). After publishing a couple of my missives, the editor had an idea for me: why not interview that spunky assistant Dave Letterman has on his show?Sounded like a cool idea. It's not like Stephane Birkitt hadn't been interviewed before; she had spoken to a couple of papers from her alma mater and her hometown, and seemed approachable. And it would have been a fun story to try to figure out how she went from anonymous assistant to the girl who talked about her weekend on the phone to the on-stage presence Dave often called "Vicki." How hard could it be to get an interview?
Almost impossible, I found out.

What should happen to Letterman?
David Letterman's confession last Thursday was the last we've heard from him on the subject (Friday's show is taped earlier in the week - he returns tonight). The columnists and pundits and fans have had their say, though. Some people defend him, some dislike him, and some aren't fazed by it at all.But beyond the "creepy" factor of it (that's Dave's own word), what about the moral and/or legal side of it? Should Letterman be fired? Reprimanded? Will he be sued? Should people stop watching him? Should advertisers leave his show? Should one of the women come out and do a "Ten Things About Dating David Letterman" list?
House: Airborne
(S03E18) Hello, everyone. Tom Biro had a flight conflict tonight, so I am covering House for him. (Yo, Tom, it's probably a good thing you'll be watching this episode after your flight, rather than before). I was delighted to fill in tonight, because I love House. It's one of my favorite shows; however, I may be the only person on the planet who didn't like last week's episode. I thought it was clunky. There are pro-life images that have been circling the net for years now with that exact shot of the fetus clutching the surgeon's finger. I thought House's use of it was obvious and kind of sloppy. And it wasn't the politics, it was the fact that I that particular scene has been done before. I wanted something a little more original. This was a great episode, though. Do you ever go back and look at the title of the episode and thunk yourself on the forehead and say, "D'oh!" Or is it just me?

Brothers and Sisters: The Other Walker
(S01E16) Oh, Kevin, how can you be so stupid! Threatening to bury that little jerk in litigation was a total lack of denial about Chad being gay. Jeez! The way to approach it would have been to say you're going to sue him for ruining YOUR reputation. Then, it would have seemed more like neither of you are gay. And you call yourself a lawyer?
