I have a problem with Don Draper

Donald_DraperI'm really, really ticked off with Don Draper. After last night's episode, I'm firmly convinced that Mad Men's Matthew Weiner is out to make Don the biggest jerk around. There are so many things to hate about Don lately, but let's just take a second look at last night's Mad Men episode. Don is practically flaunting his newest dalliance in Betty's face. When she asked him if he was sleeping at home, he said no and used Hilton as an excuse. Does he really think that Betty is that dumb?

Apparently, he does. Or perhaps he thinks that he can talk his way around her even if she were to confront him about cheating on her. Of course, Betty's still obsessed with Henry Francis, so who's she to squawk, right?

Mark Sanford was on The Colbert Report last year

The weirdest part of that Governor Mark Sanford press conference yesterday wasn't the odd detail he gave or the lies he told his staff about this whole affair/hike, it was the girl in the background behind Sanford who kept smiling broadly. Perhaps the next time a cheating politician has a press conference he should do it with his back against a wall.

Anyway, Stephen Colbert tackled the subject last night. He has a unique take on it because he actually interviewed Sanford back in early 2008 as part of his "Better Know" series (the interview was repeated earlier this year). Here's the whole episode (the Sanford segment is first).

Barbara Walters had a different sort of view

Barbara WaltersBarbara Walters had an affair. The broadcast journalist and co-hostess of The View revealed on an episode of Oprah (to be broadcast this coming Tuesday) that she had an affair with Senator Edward Brooke during the 1970's.

In 1967, Brooke was the first African-American to be popularly elected to the Senate. At the time, Walters was an up-and-coming news reporter. In the interview, Walters described the Massachusetts senator as "exciting" and "brilliant". Winfrey asked Walters if she was in love, to which she replied that she was certainly "infatuated".

Telemundo reporter suspended

Mirthala Salinas; Antonio VillaraigosaEgad, it's like a real-life telenovela in Los Angeles.

Here's what happened last month: Mirthala Salinas, a reporter for Telemundo station KVEA, Channel 52 in Los Angeles was suspended for two months after an investigation revealed she had been having an affair with Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Salinas herself, previous to the affair being exposed, reported the separation of Villaraigosa and his wife on the air. She was suspended for violating "conflict of interest" policies.

The movie focuses on an alcoholic, Considine, who has an affair with his boss' wife, played by Thurman. Hare is involved with the project, which is being directed by Anthony Page, who has directed for television several times, including the Masterpiece Theater miniseries Middlemarch.

King of the Hill: Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

king of the hill(S11E10) Holy crap! Nancy loses some of her hair in this episode, just like Marge did in The Simpsons episode "Simpsoncalifragilisticexpiala(Annoyed Grunt)cious!" Quick, somebody make a video so we can expose how King of the Hill is ripping off The Simpsons!

Anyway, this wasn't a bad episode, but it wasn't anything that great either. It felt like a snapshot of a typical day in Arlen, which means it's probably not a bad episode to show someone unfamiliar with the series, but for long-time fans, it took us places we've already been to many times before.

As usual, Dale is obsessed with aliens, and his constant yammering about the vernal equinox and his pestering Nancy about cooking the right food for the aliens has stressed her out so much her hair starts falling out. Naturally, going back to the bliss she once felt with her former lover John Redcorn starts to seem like a good idea.

James Tupper dishes about his relationship with Anne Heche

james tupper; anne hecheSo... what exactly happened between Anne Heche and James Tupper? Their new series, Men in Trees, has a strong showing in ratings on Thursdays following Grey's Anatomy. It's a cute, if somewhat unremarkable show. But earlier this year, the two stars made headlines when their on-screen romance carried on off-screen. Why do we care? Well, in truth, we shouldn't care- but it is interesting because both of them were married at the time.

James Tupper, who plays breathy Jack on Men in Trees, recently gave an interview to People magazine where he swears up and down that neither of them cheated on their spouses. He says their marriages were both over before they hooked up. It's like Brad and Angelina all over again - and we didn't believe them either, did we?

Of course, I hope that the love Heche and Tupper feel for each other is real, but I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't. In the interview, Tupper uses that line that all actors use when they fall for a co-star: "I've never met anyone like her." That's a red flag, if I've ever seen one. I think we hear that one from adults in relationships as often as we hear child actors say "I've worked for this all my life!"

South Park: Miss Teacher Bangs a Boy

south park(S10E10) Towards the end of this episode, Kyle gives his younger brother Ike the most sound advice I think anyone can give a kid who's immersed in his very first crush:

Kyle: You need to have a life. Have fun. Then ruin it by having a serious relationship.

Tomorrow's South Park tackles student/teacher sex

south parkOnce again jabbing recent headlines with its sharp satirical stick, tomorrow night's South Park will focus on an affair happening between a student and a teacher. In the episode, titled "Miss Teacher Bangs A Boy," Cartman is chosen to be Hall Monitor and becomes offended when he finds out the affair happened on his watch. And we all know how much Cartman hates it when we don't respect his authoritah. You can watch a very quick clip of the episode here. Also, check out the picture on the right with Cartman decked out like Dog the Bounty Hunter. Maybe Matt and Trey plan to weigh in on the current debacle surrounding the famed bounty hunter and his recent arrest. I haven't even seen this episode and I think I love it already.

The Closer: The Other Woman

the closer
(S02E10) Uh-oh.

Chief Pope's divorce is getting ugly and Brenda's getting dragged into it. During a deposition where Brenda thinks she is testifying on Pope's character, his wife's attorney holds up a letter that Brenda wrote to him when they both worked in Atlanta and had an affair. Before she can kill the lawyer with her glare, Brenda's called away to a homicide.

This week's crime victim is the daughter of a former heavy hitter in the city. Gennifer spelled with a 'G' was a meth addict and all the doors were locked up tight. There's a suspiciously large hole in a mattress in the guest room. Brenda's still flustered from the deposition as she stumbles through the crime scene.
