Car enthusiasts, take note: The British series all about cars,
Top Gear, is coming to America. That's been previously announced, but today we can share the news that
Adam Carolla, Tanner Foust and Eric Stromer will be teaming up to host the new NBC incarnation of Top Gear. It just so happens that I was watching
Top Gear on BBC America yesterday and it's a fun show; it's not too techie-car show, it's more about the chemistry among the three hosts and the fun, goofy challenges they do that involve cars.
Yesterday's show, for instance, pitted a one host in a Mercedes Benz SUV driving from London the the airport versus one host on a super bicycle, another in a speed boat on the Thames, and The Stig -- an anonymous test driver -- making the trek via public transportation. It was pretty funny, especially since the car lost!

The BBC plans to set up three YouTube channels that will feature short clips of BBC content. Two channels will be focused on entertainment, while one will be a news channel.
One of the entertainment channels will feature trailers and short videos related to BBC programming. There will be no advertising on this channel. It's main purpose will be to drive traffic to the BBC's website, which in the future may i
nclude full episodes of TV programs for streaming and download.
The other entertainment channel will be advertising-driven, and will include 3-6 minute clips of material from the BBC archives. Clips will include content from
Top Gear,
The Mighty Boosh, and nature programs.

As those of you who have been following the
story of his recovery know, Richard Hammond, co-host of popular British automotive show
Top Gear, suffered serious brain injuries from a 288mph jet car crash last September. Hammond returned to
Top Gear this past Sunday where it's reported he received a "hero's welcome" from fans.
Top Gear aired footage of crash, which you can see online
via the BBC.
Hammond, who watched the footage alongside co-hosts Jeremy Clarkson and James May, said that he has no recollection of the crash. "The only difference between me now, and before the crash, is I like celery now." Investigators are still reviewing the safety precautions taken by the show.
Top Gear, which appears on BBC2, aired briefly in the United States on the Discovery Channel.

Fans of popular British automotive show
Top Gear will be happy to hear that co-host Richard Hammond, who suffered from serious injuries in a 288mph jet car crash, has
gotten back behind the wheel. I should add that his mother and wife probably aren't that happy about it, but car fanatics know that Hammond belongs in the driver's seat.
Just ask American car enthusiast Jay Leno who wrote a
column entitled "Motormouth: In Praise of Danger" for the UK's
Times defending Hammond's and friend Steve Irwin's dangerous passions. "I am sure Richard would be the first to admit life is a risk. But he was doing what he loved most." Leno goes on to describe how lame American car shows are. When compared to
Top Gear, he's right.
