With the much-anticipated premiere of
Community finally bowing tonight, I figured it was a good time to pull out the interview I did with Joel McHale when I encountered him at the NBC party during the TCA press tour. I didn't talk to McHale about his current NBC show, however; I talked to him about his
previous NBC show.
Fans of the British sitcom
The IT Crowd may remember that an American pilot was shot and the show was announced for NBC's midseason schedule a couple of years back, with McHale playing Roy and Richard Ayoade bringing his breakout role of Moss over from the original. Only, the pilot never saw the light of day, and a series was never picked up.
I asked McHale about what caused the show to be dropped and if he has any regrets over the show's flame-out. Then, as a person standing in front of the host of
The Soup would tend to do, I asked him about what in the reality TV landscape gets him charged up. Interview is after the jump.

Bob Sassone already did a post on how the amazing
Anderson Cooper caused a little bit of an
accident on the set of Live with Regis and Kelly yesterday morning when he subbed for the Reege. As funny as that -- and really, the entire "host chat" segment was -- it was not my favorite thing that happened on the show yesterday.
That honor goes to Cooper's interview with
The Bachelorette's
Jillian Harris. Harris was on the show with her "fiance," doing the post-finale press tour and shilling for the jeweler who provided the diamond ring that Ed bestowed upon her on Monday's season-ender.
While Kelly stuck to the script and asked the common, "when did you know he was the one?" questions, Anderson wasn't having any of it. He's Anderson freakin' Cooper, and as he demonstrated with his
swift takedown of the Lohan clan, he doesn't have time for the shenanigans of D-list reality stars (except Kathy Griffin). So Cooper, always trying to get to the bottom of the story, flat-out asked Jillian how many dudes she boned in the
Bachelorette mansion.

After weeks of dating and eliminating some 25 women,
including some crazy ones like Stacey, London bachelor Matt Grant found his soul mate. The 27-year-old proposed to one of the final two ladies in this week's season finale of the ABC's
The Bachelor.
Did he give the $60,000 engagement ring to 24-year-old Chelsea or 22-year-old Shayne? The answer after the jump!

I'm not what you'd call a fan of
The Bachelor. I only watched Seasons 3, 4 and 7 of the ABC reality show (it's now season 12) and watched its spin-off,
The Bachelorette. I had no plans to tune in this season but, since there was nothing else on that interested me and because I was too lazy to switch channels after watching
Dancing with the Stars, I decided to watch the "London Calling" version of the dating reality series.
The main difference between this season and the others is the fact that the
hunk du jour is from London. Besides that, the series hasn't changed much since I watched Charlie O'Connell give the final rose to Sarah Brice.

There is an interesting post over at
YesButNoButYes on ten infamous game show moments. There are a couple good ones, like the guy who lost on the first question of Millionaire, and a couple classic
Family Feud and
Newlywed Game answers.
Unfortunately, it's more a good idea for a list than an actual good list, because their definition of "Game Show" is insane. I just don't get the reasoning behind adding moments from
The Bachelorette, Big Brother, and
Top Chef. Especially when there are so many great moments from actual game shows that could have been added.
Some non-reality show contenders for such a list: From
The Price Is Right, recently there was a guy who kept bidding 420 (video after the jump). Going back in the
TPIR archive there was the time when a rather buxom woman was so excited to be comin' on down that she didn't realize her boobs had bounced right out of her tube top.
