Charlie's Angels returning to TV?

Charlie's AngelsJosh Friedman, the creator behind Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, is now getting behind another movie franchise to bring to ABC. This time it's Charlie's Angels. Okay, this one started as a television franchise then moved to the movies and now is moving back to TV. Well, you get the idea.

Also involved would be Leonard Goldberg, who worked with Aaron Spelling to produce the original series, and Drew Barrymore, who produced and starred in the movie versions. My guess is that this new version would something like Charlie's Angels: The Next Generation. Will John Forsythe return as the voice of Charlie? I hope so.

Revival-mania continues strong on network television. Success has been a mixed bag. For every Battlestar Galactica there are several Bionic Womans. A new version of Charlie's Angels certainly has a shot in today's market and the movies did well. Aaron Spelling tried to revive the franchise in '88 and that didn't work. Now could be a better time. What do you think?

Terminator's Garret Dillahunt lands role on Burn Notice

Garret Dillahunt, burn notice, terminatorSummer Glau isn't the only Terminator alum heading to a high-profile show next season. The cool and creepy Garrett Dillahunt has landed a role on USA's Burn Notice. Dillahunt will play Simon, Michael's super smart new client, when the show returns in the winter.

It's unclear whether this is a guest stint or a recurring role, but chances are good that Dillahunt will be sticking around for a while. The actor has made memorable guest stints on Life, CSI, and Law & Order: SVU, and critics praised his recent big screen performance in The Last House on the Left.

Brian Austin Green to visit Smallville

Brian Austin GreenWell, the corpse has turned cold for only a second but already Brian Austin Green has gotten more work since the cancellation of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Green's scheduled to play the villain Metallo for at least two upcoming episodes of Smallville.

The man who was fighting cyborgs in a previous show is now playing one. Green must be a fan of sci-fi and comic books and the like since his recent roles reflect that.

I highly suspect that the upcoming season of Smallville is its last, particularly given its new Friday night timeslot. The creators have already thrown a ton of villains at Clark that in theory he shouldn't be meeting until he becomes Superman.

In the comics, Metallo has a Kryptonite heart which powers his cybernetic body. Assuming the show continues that character trait (and it likely would), wouldn't anybody in proximity of Metallo suddenly gain super powers? I'm just saying.

Brian Austin Green isn't joining One Tree Hill

brian austin green, terminator, one tree hillBrian Austin Green won't be fighting Skynet or returning to prime time soaps next fall.

Last week, we reported that the former Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles star was in talks to join the The CW teen drama One Tree Hill. Nerds like me, who came to love Green as TSCC's badass, cyborg-killing Derek Reese, were crushed. But it's time for those nerd hearts to heal. It turns out Green's reps didn't make a deal, and he won't be moving to One Tree Hill.

Instead, OTH has turned to Lipstick Jungle's Robert Buckley, who recently showed up on the network's much-praised but still canceled drama Privileged. Buckley will play the young, sexy sports agent role that was offered to Green.

The Sarah Connor Chronicles is terminated - for real this time

Sarah Connor Chronicles canceled
How many times have we Internet bloggos reported the cancellation of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles?

It seems like the series was killed and resurrected a dozen times during its second season. At this point, it's hard to believe Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello who is telling us that the show is dead and will not rise again no matter how much its fans kick and scream. But it looks like Fox has officially canceled TSCC.

Fans get creative to save Sarah Connor

terminator the sarah connor chronicles lena headeyNo, they're not sending nuts, bolts or robot arms to Fox executive's doors. Instead, fans of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles are joining a creative campaign called "Sarah Connor Made Me Do It" to help save the show.

Here's the idea, thought up by our friends at io9.com: TSCC fans are being asked to take photos of themselves posing with products that sponsor the show and posting them on a Flickr group. io9 says they'll make sure Fox and Warner Bros. see the photos and feel the buying power of TSCC fans.

So if you drive a Dodge Ram or love stuffing your face with Whoppers and want to see a third season of TSCC, take a picture and upload it to the group.

Do you want to see Jonathan Jackson back as Kyle Reese?

Jonathan Jackson Kyle Reese The Sarah Connor ChroniclesYeah, I know you thought The Sarah Connor Chronicles was canceled, but we've yet to hear anything official from Fox concerning the show's future. Series writer Ashley Edward Miller and creator Josh Friedman used Twitter this week to debunk Michael Ausiello's claim that the show is toast, and star Brian Austin Green seems hopeful about a third season happening.

I love the show, but like I said in my review of last week's season finale, the chances of a third season are slim to none. Even the high DVR ratings might not save it. But Fox hasn't terminated TSCC yet, and there's still a chance we might get to see that third season featuring (SPOILER HERE!) John Connor living in the post-Judgement Day future.

If a third season does happen, there's a good chance we'll see a lot more of Jonathan Jackson as John Connor's dad, Kyle Reese.

Yup, it looks like The Sarah Connor Chronicles has been terminated

The Sarah Connor ChroniclesAnd yes, I am probably the 50th person to use that headline for this story. Thank you.

Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello is reporting (from various sources he has skulking around the television world) that FOX is just about to cancel The Sarah Connor Chronicles. The ratings haven't been great for the sci-fi show. FOX paired it with Dollhouse on Friday nights and there has been no reason to keep the show alive for another season (ratings-wise, anyway - I'll leave it to the fans to judge the quality of the show itself). Things don't look that great for Dollhouse either, but that's another story.

Officially, the network won't announce its fall schedule for another month or so, at their annual upfront presentation. Unofficially, you probably shouldn't look for the show on that fall schedule. Now I guess we'll just have to wait for the premiere of the movie where Christian Bale yelled at everyone.

Would you like to see Brian Austin Green as The Green Lantern?

Terminator Brian Austin Green Green Lantern?Terminator's Brian Austin Green is hoping to land a primo gig in what could be the next big geek-friendly movie franchise.

Green is campaigning for the role of Hal Jordan, aka The Green Lantern, in the upcoming Green Lantern film. The actor told Comic Book Resources that he was inspired to campaign for the role after seeing a fan-made picture depicting him as the DC Comics hero.

Some people might not agree, but I think Green has become a pretty good actor post-90210. His comic performance was the only thing that made Freddie Prinze Jr's awful sitcom, Freddie, watchable, and he was pitch-perfect as Derek Reese on Terminator.

I'm not sure if he's right for Hal Jordan, but he's about the right age and he has the right look. Plus, I'd rather see him wear the ring than one of those Disney Channel moppets.

Ratings low for Sarah Connor Chronicles finale

Summer Glau Terminator The Sarah Connor ChroniclesThe Sarah Connor Chronicles season two finale pulled in a paltry 3.6 million viewers Friday night. The show came in behind Ghost Whisperer, Wife Swap and the abomination known as Howie Do It to receive a low 1.3 rating among adults 18-49.

It's a shame. The TSCC season finale was probably the best episode of the series. It was smart, absorbing, and just plain batsh*it crazy. It took the Terminator mythos in a bold new direction to set up what could possibly be an amazing third season. But a third season is unlikely with numbers like this. The show has failed to bring in even four million viewers during the past few months.

It looks like fans will have to get their Terminator fix with Christian Bale's upcoming Terminator Salvation and its sequels.

Fox is expected to announce its lineups for the 2009-2010 season on May 18. If TSCC doesn't make the cut, I've got three words for series creator Josh Friedman: Comic book continuation. Hey, it worked for Buffy!

The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Born to Run (season finale)

terminator sarah connor chronicles born to run finale
(S02E22) And now we wait.

The season two finale of The Sarah Connor Chronicles turned out to be the most gripping episode of the entire series. The last few minutes delivered some major surprises and a glimpse of what to expect from a possible third season.

But the chances of a third season are slim to none. The show's live ratings on Friday nights have been, well, terrible, and some sites are already reporting that the series will not return next season.

So now we wait for the official word from Fox. Will there be a season three of TSCC, or was this Sarah Connor's last hurrah?

Check out two clips from The Sarah Connor Chronicles season (series?) finale - VIDEO

terminator the sarah connor chronicles born to runWill Friday's episode of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles be the series' last hurrah? I hope not, but the outlook is not so good.

Here's what we do know about "Born to Run," Friday's season two finale: The Connors will come face-to-face with Shirley Manson's Weaverbot, and series creator Josh Friedman says the episode will answer a lot of questions and end with a cliffhanger.

I can't wait to watch this ep, especially after last week's shocking developments. But I'm not looking forward to waiting weeks or possibly months for Fox to make a decision about the show's future. Also, I'm not too thrilled about the series possibly ending on a cliffhanger. I hate it when that happens.

We have two semi-spoilery clips from the finale. Click through to watch.

Will Fox renew Dollhouse or The Sarah Connor Chronicles?

terminator the sarah connor chronicles dollhouse Fans of Dollhouse and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles know that both shows are not pulling in the live ratings that make Fox execs happy.

As TSCC approaches the end of its second season (the finale airs April 10) and Dollhouse fails to improve in the ratings, it's time to face an ugly truth: At least one of these shows is probably going bye bye.

Our friends at Airlock Alpha seemed convinced that Fox will renew Dollhouse and dump TSCC. The site claims that lower production costs and good reviews might keep Dollhouse afloat while low ratings coupled with a high licensing fee might sink TSCC.

So will Dollhouse survive while TSCC gets canceled? Or will both shows get yanked?

The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Adam Raised a Cain

terminator the sarah connor chronicles adam raised a cain
(S02E21) Wow. Just, wow! This was one of the best episodes of the season. It was also one of the most heartbreaking episodes of the entire series.

I loved everything about this ep -- the pacing, the storytelling, and the surprises. It was all great. But did I mention the heartbreak? Click through for the spoils.

The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Last Voyage of the Jimmy Carter

John Connor finally earned my respect. Did he earn yours?

This episode might have started out telling Jesse's story, but it was really about John and why he's destined to become the savior of humanity. Jesse has been scheming all season to turn John against Cameron and trusting reprogrammed "metal." Mistakenly, she assumed that John's decision to employ Terminators in the resistance was influenced by an emotional attachment he had to the machines.
