Ever since Juliet hit the bomb and made it go off we've been wondering what is going to happen on next season's
Lost. This could be a clue (and it's a spoiler!)
A former cast member is returning to the show, and her return will make
Lost fans come up with many theories, guesses, and scenarios. Emilie De Ravin will return to the show as Claire. And it's not going to be one of those cameos or limited-time deals, she's returning to the show full-time. Which means...well, who knows what it means. Could Claire be alive? A ghost? Evil like fake Locke? Flashbacks?

OK, so Juliet set off the bomb at the end of the
Lost season finale. I guess we can assume that this means that Jack and Daniel's plan to blow up the Swan worked and that history (or the future) has been changed and Oceanic Flight 815 will arrive safely in Los Angeles. I mean, the only other thing that can happen is the island blows up and they all ... die? There's probably a third option, though I'm out of Advil right now and don't want to think of it. Maybe the bomb goes off and it wasn't as bad as they thought it would be?
But back to Juliet. It was
announced earlier today that Elizabeth Mitchell will be a full-time cast member of the ABC remake of
V, so this probably means that she'll be gone from the show, even if her character is alive or they have flashbacks or whatever. Unless the island hides a race of alien lizard people, she's gone from the show. Or is she? Michael Ausiello is
reporting she'll be in a "handful" of episodes next season.

So, here we are, on the day that
Lost fanatics have been both looking forwarding to (yay, a two-hour season finale!) and dreading (damn, no more
Lost until next year!). Here's a clip from the episode, with Jack and Sayid trying to get to escape the compound before any of the residents see them.

Tonight is the 100th episode of
Lost, and it's one that revolves around Daniel Faraday. We haven't seen much of him in the past several episodes, except for his appearance at the end of the last episode when he emerged out of the sub and met Miles. I have a feeling something big is going to happen tonight, and judging from this clip I think I'm right.

It's rare to get an actor like
Lost's Michael Emerson on a network TV show. He's quirky, slightly off-kilter (I mean that in a good way), unpredictable with his line readings, and someone that can do as much with a look on his face as with a speech of 1000 words. In other words,
he's a good actor. Here's a clip from TV Guide where Emerson talks about filming that "judgment" scene with the Smoke Monster (yes, I'm capitalizing it), the show's 100th episode (this Wednesday), and what it's like to actually be recognized by people on the street.

OK, maybe "annoying" is too harsh, as I can see people being into recap shows if they're done well. Then again, if you're a big fan of
Lost, then you've already seen this stuff and you're really aching for a new episode.
So did you enjoy last night's recap episode, or was it just an irritation to you? Do you welcome weeks where there's either a repeat or a recap so you can take your mind off of the show for a bit? Take the poll after the jump and leave your thoughts in the comments below.

There's an odd little rumor spreading around the internet today, that
Friends star Matthew Perry will appear in the season finale of
Lost. Is it true or not?
Answer: very not. ABC and Perry's publicist says that
there's no truth to the rumor whatsoever. Perry did express a desire to appear in the show, which he loves, but it's not going to happen. How did it start? Well, the IMDb is an awesome web site, but when you can join and pretty much add any info that you want, things like this are going to happen (see also: Wikipedia). His name is still up there though, playing a character named "George Hobbes."

Lost continues to impress me. I really do think it's one of the great TV dramas of all-time, and
last night's episode was rock solid. Except for one thing I'm going to be nit-picky about.
OK, so Sawyer and Kate bring young injured Ben to the Others so they can save him, and Richard tells them that, yeah, I can save him, but he won't remember what happened to him and he'll lose his innocence. Up until now we (and Hurley and Miles, in one of the episodes best scenes) were wondering why Ben didn't remember that Sayid shot him as a kid when he became an adult. And the writers quickly solve this by just having his memory erased?
That seems really, really...lame.

Needless to say, this video contains possible spoilers.
So last week's episode of
Lost ended with a little Ben delivering a sandwich to Sayid, who was caught by Jin and put in a jail cell. It's hard to say how this is going to play out. We do know that Sayid has always been an independent guy and doesn't like being all cooped up and confined. So will he screw up Sawyer's plans? Will he accidentally expose Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, Juliet, and Miles? Will he try to escape? And how does junior Ben Linus fit into all of this? Is he already planning things at this age? Does he already know, somehow, about the Oceanic passengers and John Locke? And most importantly, does the kid playing Ben have that weird Michael Emerson stare down pat yet?
The answers after the jump, courtesy of Kristin over at E! It seems like all that camp has to eat are damn sandwiches.

As the title suggests, THIS IS A POSSIBLE SPOILER. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED, PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER AND RUN FROM THE ROOM WITH YOUR FINGERS IN YOUR EARS.
We've heard about the
possible deaths coming up on
Lost at the end of the season. A couple of characters (called major or major-ish by various media outlets) will be gone at the end of the season, and the deaths of at least one of them and maybe both are going to cause some fans to be bummed out for the entire summer until next season. So how about some different news?

If you've read the comments section of our review of
last night's episode of Lost, you'll see that a lot of viewers noticed a mysterious figure lurking in the shadows in the scene where Sun and Frank meet Christian. Now there are a couple of freeze frames that give a closer look.
I have to admit that I didn't see this when I watched the episode live, though I wasn't looking for it. Was it available to everyone or just those watching it in HD? The pic above doesn't really reveal anything. It just looks kinda like a blob. I didn't record the episode so I can't check it. I tried to go to ABC's site but I can't access it right now for some reason. Sigh.
Here's another look at the scene. Still can't tell too much. What do you think? Was it Claire? Charlotte? Someone else? Some filming mistake we weren't supposed to see?

We won't find the answer to this question on tonight's episode of
Lost, but I've been wondering: who is the real bad guy in the
Lost power struggle, Ben Linus or Charles Widmore?
On one hand, Ben has done so many evil things that it's hard to see him as a good guy, and killing John Locke last week was probably the ultimate proof that Ben-haters have to name him as the bad guy. But he has also helped the islanders at several points (though we still haven't found out if he's doing that for his own reasons), and is it possible that he killed Locke himself because Locke has to die but can't kill himself for some reason? It's going to be interesting to see Ben wake up from his nap on that bed and see Locke alive again (or will he be surprised)?

Could one of the top stars be leaving one of TV's top shows?
Zap2It is reporting that Evangeline Lilly, who plays Kate on ABC's
Lost, is currently auditioning for roles on new TV shows. And these aren't shows that are going to premiere after
Lost ends its run after next season, these are pilots for new shows starting this fall. Hmmm...
This wouldn't be the first time that
Lost has gotten rid of a major character on the. They killed off Charlie and Eko and Anna and got rid of Michael and Walt, so it's not like the show is against throwing fans for a loop and having anything possible. But Kate is a
major major character, one that holds a lot of the plots together emotionally (her relationships with Jack and Sawyer, taking care of Aaron for Claire) so it would be a big deal if she were to leave. Several Lost sites have been reporting that a "majorish" character will be killed off before this season ends.
(
Lilly's rep says the report isn't true.)

I'm a sucker for time travel shows. I loved it when
Star Trek did it (all of the
Star Trek shows did it, several times) and
Back to the Future is one of my favorite films. So I'm really enjoying
Lost this season, with it's time-tripping and skipping. But I have some problems with it, and so does
Jeopardy champion Ken Jennings.
Jennings mentions on his blog that he thinks the writers have actually answered too many questions, which isn't a complaint that you hear from
Lost fans too often. He thinks if they had left more plot questions, some of the things that happened in previous seasons "could now be explained as the actions of Future Juliet or Future Sawyer or somebody."
Jennings thinks it's smart that the show has the rule that you can't change what happened, because if something happens a certain way it will always happen that way. But I think the show is breaking that rule here and there.

So
J.J. Abrams says that there might be a Lost big screen movie in the future. This is a terrible idea.
You know what that would mean? It would mean that the ending we've been promised - after the sixth season - really won't be the
complete ending. We'll get a lot of answers but not
all of them. They'll save that for the movie that we'll have to pay $10 to see. At least the
X-Files movie came in the middle of the series run, and the sequel was a stand-alone story, so you didn't feel you were getting ripped off or teased. A stand-alone
Lost movie wouldn't make much sense.
