I read Bill O'Reilly's new book,
A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity, over the weekend. The title comes from something a nun called him when he was a kid. Besides finding out how much of a great guy he is (I found this out from O'Reilly, not from friends or associates), I also found out why the series finale of
Seinfeld was so bad.
It was the liberal media's fault.
That's right, the FOX News host says that Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David are so cynical that they "tanked the final episode on purpose." They wanted to go out on such a low note that they made purposely made the last episode bad.

After all the excitement from Comedy Central and the
web, I must say I was expecting a little more from the O'Reilly/Colbert appearance swap. Don't get me wrong, though, because I was definitely entertained. It's just that I didn't think the whole thing lived up to the hype. When it ended and the dust quickly cleared, I confusedly blinked and looked around. No carnage... Only mild scrapes, light bruises and the sound of my annoyingly exaggerated sighs. I wanted to see blood on those crisp French cuffs, damn it. Oh, well. I guess we can't get everything we want.

In this week's Newsweek
magazine, Bill O'Reilly spins
The Colbert Report in his favor. Despite being an obvious target of Colbert,
O'Reilly says he finds the comedy "refreshing". In true Bill O'Reilly fashion, he conjures up a statistic and
hypocritically says of his detractors, "Ninety percent of them are just vicious and they use their platform to
injure people." I imagine he's including
Keith Olbermann in that statistic.
O'Reilly basically laughs off
The Colbert Report a rip-off of his own show, saying, "This formula of
his program is they match
The Factor and they seize upon themes that work for them. He ought to be sending me
a check every week, 'cause we're basically the research for the writers." Do you think Bill understands the word
'satire'?
O'Reilly is only one tiny part of a much larger article on
The Colbert Report. You can
