Fox is looking to turn National Geographic's
Cesar Millan, aka the Dog Whisperer, into a funny idea for a sitcom. And no, that's not the part they hope is funny.
The network is looking to cast
That 70's Show's Wilmer Valderrama in the potential sitcom's title role, assuming it's called "The Dog Whisperer."
Hung's co-executive producer Emily Kapnek will write the show's pilot.
If this gets to the air and becomes a wild success, just imagine the bar this could set for other reality show stars to get their own half-hour sitcom. Then again, try not to or your skull will cave in.

Arrested Development was a critical darling that managed three seasons of low ratings before FOX pulled the plug. Creator Mitch Hurwitz reunited with
AD star Will Arnett for this past season's animated disaster
Sit Down, Shut Up.
Now, they're reuniting with
AD co-executive producer Jim Vallely for a third shot. This one's a live-action
single camera comedy on FOX starring Arnett as a jackass. It's off to a good start; Arnett plays jackass very well.
The premise: Arnett is rich Beverly Hills stock and falls in love with a tree-hugger who hates him and every shallow thing he stands for. Just for being live-action, I think this one has potential. Arnett is waiting for the right vehicle to make him a star, and we already know what Hurwitz is capable of. Could this be their pot of ratings gold?

FOX has only two live action comedies on their fall slate:
'Til Death and
Brothers. As someone who's seen
Brothers, I can see why they'd be concerned that this isn't going to be enough. So, if you're FOX and you haven't had a good long-running comedy hit since
That '70s Show, what do you do? Find the guys who worked on that and see what the've been up to, of course.
Co-creator and executive producer Mark Brazill has been developing a new multi-camera comedy. "We'll take it!" It's just a spec script right now? "Okay, find the right cast and -- we'll take it!"
Like
'70s,
The Rednecks & Romeos is a coming-of-age comedy. Based somewhat on Brazill's own experiences, it's about a family trying to get by after the father loses his dealership business and the family home to bankruptcy. That may hit pretty close to home for a lot of people these days.

Actor and comedian
Jim Gaffigan has come a long way from driving down the stock price for Hot Pockets.
He landed his own short-lived sitcom on CBS, thanks to David Letterman, called
Welcome to New York and a co-starring role on the hit TBS' dramedy
My Boys, which returns for a third season on March 31.
He also racked up a long resume of funny and dramatic roles on hit shows like
Sex and the City,
Flight of the Conchords, and
That 70's Show. He is also one of the few actors to score appearances on all of the
Law & Order series if you don't count
the spinoff that hardcore
L&O cultists are forbidden to say out loud.

"This is the first script I've read that made me excited to come back to TV," said the actor about his latest project.
The actor is Wilmer Valderrama; the project is a Fox comedy pilot called The Emancipation of Ernesto.
Wilmer, who is best-known from his eight seasons on
That '70s Show -- a supporting player on the Fox mainstay -- will be front and center on this new one-hour, single camera comedy. He's Ernesto, and Ernesto is a quirky character.
The show is citing two 1979 films -- for starters -- as reminiscent of
The Emancipation of Ernesto: Steve Martin's
The Jerk, as well as Chauncey Gardiner, the Peter Seller's character in
Being There. Why? Well, it's the Ernesto character.

MTV is hooking up with
That '70s Show's Fez (Wilmer Valderrama)
to develop a scripted comedy that takes a look at celebrity worship. The series, titled
Baby Dolls, which will be filmed in documentary style, is told from the point of view of "a naive and jaded personal assistant to a young actress." Naive
and jaded? So this person has a lack of experience, judgment or knowledge about the world but is hardworking and completely worn out by all the energy he or she puts into the job? Sounds like a job for Kenneth the Page from
30 Rock!
Or I guess Valderrama could play the role himself. He certainly played the role of "naive" to a T in
That '70s Show and hasn't been doing much TV work outside of getting
Punk'd by fellow
'70s co-star Ashton Kutcher from time to time. Doesn't he know that there's a legion of Fez-natics out here just waiting for him to grace our screens again. Hell, keep it the same character ... Fez twenty years later working as a personal assistanta. "Would you like me to powder your breasts with my nose?"

(S04E12) I had all but forgotten about Kurtwood Smith. I've been a big fan ever since Robocop and this character is really fun to watch. I only wish the writers had given his character a different name. Every time someone calls him Agent Cooper, I flashback to Twin Peaks and I feel like I'm betraying Medium by wishing that Peaks was still on the air.
One of the best things about Smith is how he can be so menacing while still keeping a smile on his face. In fact, I find him scarier when he smiles. I felt the same way when Red would actually say something nice to a member of his family on That 70's Show.

(S02E18) They don't do much in the way of developing the big mysteries, but I do like it when the
Supernatural team takes time out to have some fun. Such was the case this week with "Hollywood Babylon." If it was the overall style of the show, I don't think it would work nearly as well. But as an every once in a while thing, these tongue-in-cheek, laugh at yourself, episodes are a fun diversion from the norm. Although, I would have preferred to see this one and "Tall Tales" separated a little more on the schedule.

Welcome to TV Squad Lists (formerly 'The Five'), a feature where each blogger has a chance to list his or her own rundown of things in television that stand out from the rest, both good and bad.
Last week I gave you a pretty big list of
popular "drinkeries" from TV, but I think where I went wrong was trying too hard to list
every watering hole possible. Since I'm covering eateries this week, I'm certain I'll miss some of your favorites, but I'm going to list what I believe to be the most popular dining spots from television, both past and present. And since there are way too many
real spots on TV to mention (Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Stadium, etc.), I'll stick with fictional spots, even if they're based on real ones.
This time let's go with 14 of them.
1) Arnold's/Al's Drive-In (
Happy Days) -- I struggled for a bit with what I would call the number one eatery on TV, but I kept coming back to this spot. Arnold's/Al's was in nearly every episode as far as I can recall, and of course housed The Fonz's office. After it burned down, the signage changed to Al's.

(S03E06) I think that most people probably thought of Red Foreman when they saw Kurtwood Smith in the previews for this episode. Any actor that does a role for that long is going to be tied to it to some degree. Especially if it is something like
That 70's Show which is in syndication so you are constantly stumbling over it. But it is a credit to Kurtwood that while I was secretly hoping for him to call someone a dumb-ass the whole time, he made Edward Cooper something completely different.
Cooper is an interesting character. At once the hero, and the villain. I suspected going in that there would be some butting of the heads as his clinical studying of the evidence clashed with Allison's visions. And we did get some of that. It was made even better with the first round going to Cooper. He was so smarmy and confident as he shot Allison down again and again. It seemed to set up perfectly for Allison to eventually be proven right and get the "I told you so" moment that she wanted so badly.

CBS wants to see what happens when the cool kids at Abercrombie & Fitch mingle with the computer geeks at the Apple Store Genius Bar. The show is called
Genius Bar and all four major networks thought it was pretty great. After a bidding war, the idea landed at CBS.
Genius Bar is being created by Josh Sternin and Jeff Ventimilia, two producers of
That '70s Show.
It's interesting- the idea for the show actually came from a marketing guru named Krishnan Menon, whose company is responsible for major marketing campaigns for the iPod and iMac.
