(S34E22) Justin Timberlake returned for his third turn as host and it was tough not to keep expectations pretty high. I mean, if an vengeful warlock were to suddenly put a crippling curse on his music career (like they do), Timberlake could definitely fall back on being a professional
SNL host. Yes, this would become a real profession, just for him.
As usual, some sketches fell a bit flat, but Timberlake's over-confident, hammy swagger made things a little more interesting. This particular episode also gave us another legendary musical Digital Short with Timberlake and Andy Samberg and a couple of all-around MILFs. It's tough to top a surprise appearance by Leonard effin' Nimoy, but "Motherlover" was certainly the highlight of the evening. Here are some other notable video moments!

I've been pretty hard on NBC of late, like
calling for Jeff Zucker's head when NBC announced it will present Jay Leno every weeknight in prime time next fall, but I think I'm going to have to tip my cap to the network for how
ER is coming to an end.
Not only have the producers lured
George Clooney and Juliana Margulies back for a last go-round, they've also cast Oscar-winner Susan Sarandon for a guest turn. George, Julianna and Susan will all appear on
ER on March 12.
I'm curious to see their appearances, but here's the casting that will have me definitely tuning in:
Alexis Bledel is booked for ER two-hour finale on April 2.

Generally speaking, I'm not an anti-remake person. There are times when a remake is perfectly acceptable and oftentimes can improve upon the best of the original, like
Battlestar Galactica, for instance. However -- you knew that was coming, didn't you? -- this remake just sounds like a disaster in the making.
MTV is going to turn The Rocky Horror Picture Show into a TV movie. They will take the 1975 cult classic sci-fi, horror musical spoof and give it a 2008 spin.
Oh, please! You cannot strike lightning twice.
Rocky Horror was a phenomenon. It was a cult classic because the people who found and supported the movie in all those midnight movie showings felt like they were part of a "with it" crowd. It was like we had all found a diamond in the rough, a film that Hollywood just didn't get. How can MTV possibly think they'll recapture that zeitgeist in a TV movie?

You know what the "regular" television season is missing? Messed up characters like Tommy Gavin. Ain't no one as screwed up as Tommy. Not even Tony Soprano, in my opinion. Luckily, FX has scheduled the return of
Rescue Me for one week after
The Shield wraps up.
This will be the fourth season of
Rescue Me (already?!?) and we'll see some familiar faces such as Susan Sarandon, and newbies such as Jennifer Esposito, Larenz Tate, and Jerry Adler, who plays the firehouse's new chief. The season finale last year left our anti-hero, Tommy, passed-out drunk in a burning building with Sheila.
Rescue Me returns Tuesday, June 12th at 10 p.m. It'll have a 13-episode run that will last to mid-September.
