The
Saturn awards ceremony was held last night, and
Lost dominated the television categories with four wins. The drama won the award for Best Network Series and nearly swept the acting categories. Evangeline Lilly lost the Best Actress award to
Ghost Whisperer's Jennifer Love Hewitt, last year's winner. Most of the first-time nominees, such as
Pushing Daisies and
Journeyman, were shut out.
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was the only exception; Summer Glau tied for Best Supporting Actress.
Comedian Jeffrey Ross hosted the event. Hopefully this is just the beginning of a successful awards season for
Lost. A complete list of winners in the television categories follows after the jump.

We here at TV Squad are sometimes privy to top secret industry information (information if revealed in public would result in our spontaneous beheading). Other times, we're just given the press release.
That being said, the second season of
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will begin on Monday, September 8th at 8 p.m. I'll wait while you run to the DVR to set the record time. Fox is also planning to run a season one marathon leading up to the premiere (the DVD is set for release on August 19th).
Returning actors include Lena Headey, Summer Glau, Thomas Dekker, Richard T. Jones and Brian Austin Green. New cast members include Shirley Manson, who plays a tech company CEO, and Leven Rambin as a possible love interest for John Connor.
Season one of the show had to be cut short due to the writer's strike (and had a somewhat unsatisfying cliffhanger), but there were some real gems of episodes. I'm looking forward to season two.

Who's the King of Comic-Con? Kevin Smith or Joss Whedon? Kevin may have pulled ahead with this afternoon's
Heroes announcement, but Joss' fans come bearing gifts. Seriously. At least half the people asking questions had gifts to lay at the master's feet. Fortunately for us, Joss came equipped with a gift or two himself.
If you don't want one
Buffy Season 8 spoiler, don't follow the jump.

When I heard of this new series coming to FOX, I had mixed reactions. I'm a big fan of the
Terminator franchise, so first there was a feeling of excitement. That feeling quickly changed to fear when the premise was revealed, which changed once more to my just not giving a crap anymore.
I recently got the opportunity to read the pilot script for this show, so I went from not caring to mild curiosity. Could this show pull off a worthwhile addition to the Terminator series of movies? I was about to find out. I should warn you, though --
big spoilers ahead, so tread carefully.

Ever wonder what happened to River during all that time she was locked up in Alliance hands? Well, now you can see what happened if you
watch the lost tapes from her "sessions." This almost amounts to torture for
Firefly fans, because while we get some tantalizing background hints about River, it just makes Browncoats (like me) wish that this series would return.
Can't someone pony up the cash and get this great show back on the air, make a direct to DVD movie, or even a video podcast? I'd even settle for a traveling minstrel & puppet show at this point. Check out the never released grainy black & white footage after the jump. It features River (Summer Glau) and Joss Whedon himself playing her counselor.
(NOTE: The video below is currently shorter than it should be. We're working to get it fixed. Keep checking back.)
(UPDATE: Fixed now. Enjoy!)

NewstalkZB did an interview with Summer Glau as a lead up to her appearance at Auckland's Armageddon Pulp Expo. You can get audio of the conversation at
their site. She talks about some of her recent TV work, including
The Unit and
The 4400. They also touch on what kind of projects she would like to tackle in the future. Her dream list involves a western, a period piece, and a movie about ballet. The tasty nugget from the interview is Summer's mention that she and Joss Whedon are "talking about doing a little something together."
But if just hearing Summer isn't enough for you, tonight you can see her too. She stars in
The Initiation Of Sarah, which is part of ABC Family's "
13 Nights Of Halloween." It looks to be another of the network's cheesy, but fun, movies. Sisters Sarah (Mika Boorem) and Lyndsey (Summer Glau) are starting their first year of college. While pledging sororities they manage to get pulled into a battle of good vs. evil. The cast also includes Morgan Fairchild, Jennifer Tilly, Joanne Garcia (
Reba), and Tessa Thompson (
Veronica Mars). If you like that ABC Family style, it should be worth a look.

(S02E04) Zombies! I didn't think they were going in that direction based on the opening. Given the events that led up to Angela's death I thought we were looking at something more along the lines of the woman in white from "Pilot". She certainly had the wardrobe for it. I suppose since we've been down that road though, this was a better way to go. And in typical
Supernatural fashion, Angela isn't your father's zombie.
She's fast. And as we learned, a bullet to the brain doesn't have much effect. I like that they have made their own rules for the dispatching of the various baddies in the world of the show. And nailing a zombie into its grave bed is a great way to kill them. What threw me off about Angela was the actress playing her. The Tivo description of the episode listed Summer Glau (
Angel, Firefly) in the role, and her IMDB profile confirmed. But that wasn't Summer, it was Tamara Feldman. While it would have been fun to see Summer Glau, Tamara did a nice job as Angela, and gave me one more reason to track down a copy of
Hatchet.
