Count Grammy and Emmy-winner Cyndi Lauper as a fan of
As the World Turns' gay couple Noah and Luke. Like the dedicated "Nuke" lovers out there, Cyndi's been anxious for the duo's romance to move more swiftly on the soap. She's decided to do something about it -- and promote her new album at the same time.
Cyndi Lauper will appear as herself on the July 3 episode of As the World Turns, sing a couple of songs and subtly let Luke and Noah know that she supports their relationship.
The controversy surrounding Nuke's soap story -- that their romance is moving too slowly because they're not heterosexual, but homosexual -- has vexed fans. Lauper told
Entertainment Weekly, "I think they're young, these guys, and they're sweet. They're taking their time and struggling with the heart issues, which is even more endearing than just being like the straight couples, half-naked and having sex all over the place. The best way to people is through the heart, and that's why I think it's kind of interesting the way they've done it. It's about love.''

Sometimes you have to call it like you see it. Last week,
One Life to Live staged a bachelorette party for Adriana with a surprise appearance (not to viewers, but to the characters) by Snoop Dogg. I was skeptical. This sounded like just another shoe-horned, topical musical guest starring role to throw a spotlight on the show. Well, it was to a point. It was a publicity stunt. However, the way
One Life put the show together, this intervention was something to shout about. It was a superb hour of music, comedy, drama and soap entertainment. If you're going to be cast in a bright spotlight, you better shine, and that's just was
One Life to Live did.

(S07E29) Well, this is what you've all been waiting for, right? What's that? Finale? Yeah, I guess that'll be cool, too. But if you've listened to Ryan all season then you know TONIGHT is really what it's all about! If you're looking to find out who got eliminated by vote last night you're going to have to wait until tomorrow. But if you're looking for two-and-a-half hours of entertainment chock full of celebrities and song and charity, then you're looking for "
Idol Gives Back."
Last year's inaugural edition was very good, and
Kristin's report of the Idol Gives Back taping from this past Sunday was also very positive. We don't have any pesky (non) eliminations to deal with like last year, so just kick back, donate and enjoy. And, if you want, join us online and chat about it in real-time with other giving
Idol fans.
You can join the chat starting just before 7:30/6:30pm CDT by following this link. Look for the full episode review right here later tonight.Continue reading American Idol: Idol Gives Back 2008

Last night I went to a taping of the second installment of
Idol Gives Back at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. This year the charities that benefited were Malaria No More, Children's Defense Fund, The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, Children's Health Fund, and Save the Children.
Keep in mind, there will be spoilers. It's not like I found out the secret to
Lost, but I figured I would still give fair warning. The show will air on Wednesday April 9th at 7:30 pm ET / PT. For what happened at the taping and in the press room, read on after the jump. And check back for
Jason's review Wednesday night.

Things will never be the same in Llanview. Rapper
Snoop Dogg will be guesting on One Life to Live. Following in the footsteps of other big name music stars Mary J. Blige, Nelly Furtado, Chris Botti, Erykah Badu, Timbaland and Keri Hilson, Snoop is going to sing at the Ultra Violet dance club in episodes airing on ABC (and SoapNet) May 8 and May 9.

Sometimes you find the strangest things on the internet when you weren't even looking for them. I read
an article about Idol winner Taylor Hicks playing a little club show after his concert in San Jose and went looking for some video to share with the Idol fans at TV Squad. Sure enough, it's out there. You can see a couple clips from the show by
following this link.
But wait... just like a Ron Popeil infomercial, there's more! While digging up the San Jose video, I stumbled on a little gem from the Birmingham City Scenes Festival. Taylor Hicks on stage rockin' the mic with Snoop Dogg. He spends most of the song dancing and playing harmonica, but about 2:30 in he does a little rapping. It's a strange thing to see. Interesting, but I like my Taylor Hicks a little more Dr. John and a little less Dr. Dre. Watch the video after the jump.
