(
S03E04)
"I don't need to know how to change a diaper to know when it stinks to high hell." - BellickWell there you have it. "What's in the box" turned out to be what we all expected. For those that thought there was still a glimmer of hope that we might see more of Dr. Sara Tancredi this season,
you can stop holding your breath. I suggest reading that link (it's from Ausiello over at
TV Guide) with an open mind. You'll know what I mean after you skim through it. Anyway, upon opening up his little gift from The Company, Lincoln saw the worst -- Sara's head neatly wrapped up in some decorative tissue paper.

(S03E04) This was an interesting episode. I remember reading about how this season was being split into two parts. First we'd get six episodes and then a nice long hiatus before the return in 2007. I remember reading that article because it said the two parts of season three would have distinctly different feels and themes. Well this episode certainly set-up what's in store for us in the next two installments before the break.
A Sawyer-centric episode, "every man for himself" has become our favorite con man's new slogan. As much as he'd like to find and help Jack, his priority is to get himself and Kate to safety first. Funny how priorities change though right?

(S03E04) I've seen every episode of Numb3rs. Some of them twice. The episodes with Lou Diamond Phillips? At least three times. But you know what? This was hands down the best episode of Numb3rs yet. It had everything.

(S03E04) Drop everything. Ari Gold has officially come up with the most perfect, most vulgar, most offensive, yet hilarious, insult EVER. It's flawless. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you: cunt muscle. It just rolls off your lips. For instance, "Hey (your friend's name), stop being such a cunt muscle." Go on, give it try. I've used it dozens of times and the episode only aired thirty minutes ago. It's that good. Now give yourself a second to take a deep breath (because all our lives are clearly better now that this phrase is in our collective verbal lexicons) and then continue reading.

(S03E04) Even the slow episodes are good. I'm sure the die-hards (and I'd like to think that I'm one of them) will disagree with me when I say that this episode was slow but let's be honest. Not much happened and what did was a lot of filler. The biggest, and most important, event was Alma's decision to finally open the Deadwood Bank. Am I the only one who thought this was sudden though? I know she proposed the idea last season to Sol and I think we were to assume it was a go by all accounts, but this came out of nowhere. There's been no mention of it this season (that I can remember) and now here it is. Of course, this would explain why Alma was only willing to sell Hearst a 49% stake in her gold claim in last week's episode. She knew she would still need a majority share so that it could be used to back any deposits at her bank. I love when little connections like that are made though, because last week it made no sense to me in regards to the offer Alma made Hearst. Now it makes perfect sense. A "powerhouse" I believe Mr. Ellsworth called her.

(S03E04) Go grab a thesaurus and look up fantastic. The dozen or so associated words - wonderful, spectacular, etc. None of them, not a single one, would do this episode justice. It's easily one of the top-five episodes of Rescue Me so far and that's saying a lot, especially if you saw the previews for next week.
The episode started with a bang. While responding to a medical emergency (an elderly African-American male with chest pains), the crew encounters a toppled school bus full of children. Naturally, they pull over and help get the kids out. Just in time too because the bus caught fire and part of it blew up. But nothing goes easy for these guys. As a result of ignoring the medical call, they got called out on the evening news by the Reverend Al Sharpton. His argument? They're racist because they helped all those white children instead of the guy who called 911. But there was an Egyptian kid on the bus too. Take that Al.
