Dirt: And The Winner Is

Alexandra Breckenridge and Ryan Eggold(S02E06) "Exhaustion? Isn't that "Hollywood" for shit-faced?" - Willa

I remember when I spoke with Courteney Cox a few months ago about the upcoming season of Dirt, she said something about every episode being self-contained. Well, I beg to differ. If you missed last week's installment, then you were almost completely in the dark last night. This was a direct continuation of the previous hour and while I loved it last week, Dirt did was it does best and took another nosedive.

There have just been so many opportunities to really make this show more than it is and every time something with potential makes a splash, it gets killed. Literally this time.

Sleeper Cell: School

Michael Ealy as Darwyn and Said Taghmaoui as Karrar in 'Sleeper Cell.'

(S02E06) One of the things I love about this show is how they pick simple one word titles (the first season did it too) and the given episode stays committed to portraying that title (a theme really) from everyone's perspective. It's a very cool storytelling technique, the way they expand upon everyone but manage to keep it cohesive. Ethan Reiff, Cyrus Voris, and everyone else who has a hand in writing and producing this show deserves a real pat on the back. They've created quite the epic. Entertaining because, well, it is. And scary because... it's real.

Criminal Minds: The Boogeyman

Lola Glaudini(S02E06) So long Agent Greenaway. Elle is no longer employed with the Behavioral Analysis Unit. It was kind of slow though, wasn't it? I was hoping for a more, I don't know, intriguing or exciting close to Elle's story. Maybe she admits to killing in cold blood or does something to partially redeem herself? Nope. Instead, she blew off work, skipped a psych evaluation, and went to visit her father's grave. Lots of soul searching I guess. She was close to her father though. If you remember the season premiere, she spoke with him in her dream.

But at the end of the episode, it was clear her head was no longer in the game. I'm not sure that Hotch fired her but there was some sort of understanding between them. He didn't want her on the team anymore and she didn't want to be there. So she handed in her gun and badge. I wasn't a big fan of her attitude though. I didn't like that she felt as though the team wasn't behind her (not true) and the crack about Hotch never smiling (also not true) was just mean-spirited even though she delivered it sarcastically. I was initially against Lola Glaudini leaving the show and I'm not sure if the writers did it on purpose, but I feel good about it now. I'm looking forward to what Paget Brewster can bring to the table. Alrighty, on to the rest of the episode.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: The Gang Gives Back

The cast of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia(S02E06) Hi, everybody! Rich Keller here on behalf of Jonathan Toomey, who is currently without electricity. So, while he takes cold showers and eats all of the remaining ice cream in his freezer so it doesn't melt I will be reviewing this week's episode of Sunny in Philadelphia.

Now, I haven't watch the show from the beginning, so I'm not familiar with the whole "flaming poo" incident where the gang actually burned down a building and were charged with arson. However, it seems to be biting them on the butt now as they have been given several hours of community service to accomplish. For most of the gang its over to the gym to coach the youth basketball program. For Charlie, who actually threw said bag of flaming poo, its garbage pickup on the highway and sessions at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting to see if he can be redeemed.

I've read Jonathan Toomey's very positive reviews of this show, and heard the comparisons of Sunny to Seinfeld. Yet, I didn't see any comparison to the classic series. Furthermore, I must have hit a weak episode, because I didn't find it very funny.
