It's worse news for Worst Week as star moves on, sort of

Kyle Bornheimer in While I've not seen official word that CBS's Worst Week has been canceled, it doesn't look like its star has much faith, as he's been cast in a new comedy pilot. ABC has tapped Kyle Bornheimer to star opposite Alyssa Milano and Eric Christian Olsen in a new comedy from Family Guy writer Ricky Blitt. Now that's no Seth MacFarlane, but it is one of the manatees on his team. And it has Alyssa Milano and we haven't fallen out of love with her yet, so I'd say it has a good chance of not being total crap and maybe even making it onto my TV screen.

I thought Bornheimer was pretty funny in Worst Week as the unluckiest bumbling fool on television in a long time. The rest of the show, however, kind of got boring for me after a few weeks. The article says that Bornheimer would stick with Worst Week if it's renewed, but you know he's rooting for it to die. Ratings weren't great and this pilot has him playing second banana to lead Olsen (Brothers & Sisters), which I see fitting his manic energy well. And did I mention Alyssa Milano?

CBS orders pilots with Amy Smart and Fred Savage

Smart/SavageIt'll be one more time around for a Wonder Years alumna and a Felicity fave. Fred Savage and Amy Smart have both been cast in CBS pilots. For Fred, who for me may have peaked as an actor as Kevin Arnold (although I did love him in Austin Powers in Goldmember playing Number Three -- the guy with the mole on his face), the new project on tap is Single White Millionaire. The sitcom is from the pen of writer Ricky Blitt, one of the Family Guy scribes, so that's a plus. The plot is described as the story of an unassuming, thirtysomething millionaire ready to settle down -- and obviously looking for the right lady to share his life (although I guess he could be looking for a significant other of either gender -- the project line leaves it open).

Watch four episodes of The Winner online

The WinnerWow, I didn't even realize that FOX was going to do this, but they have posted four episodes of Rob Corddry's new comedy The Winner, which premieres (on television) on March 4 at 8:30.

Now, this is the part of the post where I tell you that I've watched a couple of the episodes and the show is either a.) funny!, b.) a disappointment, or c.) too early to tell, it could get better! Unfortunately, my speakers aren't working right now. Actually, they are, because I can play CDs and iTunes and other stuff just fine, but I can't play the sound on web videos at all (and yes I've checked the settings).

The show looks good. The way the credits come on and there's a title. And the way Rob Cordrry looks when he walks around a room, sits on a couch and moves his mouth. Wow! I can't wait to hear what all the characters are saying.
