NCIS: Reunion

NCIS_Gibbs_DiNozzo_Ziva
(S07E02)
After last week's action packed NCIS, you might think that tonight's episode would be more sedate. Not really. There was a gruesome murder scene at the open, and plenty of mystery involving a cop who was out for revenge, but all that was a backdrop for something far more interesting. Ziva's return to the fold. More after the jump.

Mackenzie Phillips was high during One Day at a Time reunion

Like you, I wanted to take a shower and pour bleach into my ears after hearing what Mackenzie Phillips had to say on Oprah yesterday (thanks Oprah). But one of the interesting revelations that has come out of all of this is that Phillips had done heroin and was high during a One Day at a Time reunion on Today last year. Here's the clip from that episode.

Bonus: I didn't realize that One Day at a Time was based on the life of Meredith Baxter's family.

Burn Notice reuniting Cagney and Lacey this week - UPDATE

Cagney_and_Lacey_past_present

Based on the previews showing Strickler asking Michael to turn on Fiona, the summer season finale of Burn Notice promises to be a bang-up episode. Especially after Fiona walked out on Michael last week because of his obsession with getting back in the intelligence community, i.e. getting the burn notice lifted. However, amid all those hijinks will be a reunion that many, many fans will be tuning in to see -- Cagney and Lacey. That's right, Tyne Daly is guesting on Burn Notice with her former partner Sharon Gless, a.k.a. Michael's mom.

It's taken more than a year for the powers that be to swing this casting coup, and not surprisingly, they've saved it for the season finale. I'm just hoping that they've found a way to weave it into the main story and not make it just a silly subplot, because Daly and Gless deserve a showcase.

30 Rock: Reunion

30 Rock(S03E05) "We all have ways of coping. I use sex and awesomeness." - Jack

I haven't gone to any of the many reunions my high school class has had over the past 25 years. I mean, one of the great things about graduating from high school is that you don't have to see these people anymore. I have a few friends from high school I'm still good friends with, and that's enough.

I was certainly more liked in high school than Liz Lemon was (I think we all were!), but this episode just confirms my suspicions that going to a high school reunion would be a very, very bad idea.

Dallas 30th anniversary reunion planned

Dallas logoAre you available Saturday, November 8th? Will you be in Parker, Texas? If the answer to these questions is yes, then maybe you'll head out to Southfork Ranch for a reunion with cast members of the classic CBS mega-hit Dallas. In honor of the 30th anniversary of the primetime soap, several actors from the show -- those still around -- will gather for a huge celebration. J.R. -- Larry Hagman -- will be the unofficial host, with Sue Ellen (Linda Gray) and Bobby (Patrick Duffy) also confirmed. No, this is not a dream. It's a real anniversary get together!

And what's really terrific about this event, if you ask me, is that it's not a private party. You can buy a ticket and take part. Tickets go on sale August 22 and will cost between $100 and $1,000. And for that money there will be a chance to ask questions of the stars, enjoy a concert of country music, tour Southfork and watch a fireworks display. Presumably that will not be a re-enactment of "Who shot J.R.?"

Stargate Atlantis: Broken Ties

Mark Dacascos - Stargate Atlantis
(S05E03) I have to admit, when I saw in the previews last week that we were getting a Ronon episode, I wasn't exactly excited. I figured it would be another stand alone episode, probably ok, but I don't usually think of Ronon as a character to carry the big load. Having now watched "Broken Ties," I'll say I was pleasantly surprised. Jason Momoa took advantage of being given the A-story and delivered his best performance to date. And along the way we got a little more background on Woolsey, and some answers to Teyla's burning question.

Any Friends reunion would be Ross-less

FriendsSince the last episode of the hit series Friends aired in May 2004, rumors have been flying around as to if and when a reunion would happen. Over the years, there have been reports that some of the actors didn't want to be part of a reunion, at least, not for a while. None of these reports were properly confirmed. However, this week comes the confirmation that David Schwimmer, who played the character of Ross, will not take part in a Friends reunion if there ever is one.

Chyler Leigh may become a regular on Grey's Anatomy

Chyler LeighWhat would you say if Meredith's half-sister and new Seatlle Grace intern were to become a regular character on Grey's Anatomy? That is what TV Guide's Michael Ausiello is reporting in his latest "Ask Ausiello" feature.

Chyler Leigh, who plays Meredith's half-sister Lexie Grey, was first introduced at the very end of last season. Many fans already don't like her character much as she is already getting in the way of the Meredith and Derek relationship.

Leigh's original contract stipulated that she would appear in 13 episodes. But it seems that as writers and the show's creator, Shonda Rhimes, are mapping the upcoming season, they are thinking to have her stick around as a permanent fixture.

The Police to perform on MTV Unplugged - VIDEO

the policeAre you a fan of the rock band The Police and musical instruments that aren't plugged in? Then I have good news for you.

The Police, who are currently on a reunion tour, will be performing an all-acoustic set for MTV Unplugged somewhere in Miami on July 13, according to Fox News. There's no specific word yet on just which venue the performance will take place, but fans will no doubt be able to catch the performance on MTV (and perhaps also VH1 and CMT). The article further states that an album could result from the Unplugged performance, which should make fans very happy, especially those fans who can't afford tickets.

Osmonds to reunite on PBS next year

osmondsBob told you a couple months ago that a possible reunion was planned of Donny Osmond and four of his brothers (Wayne, Jay, Merrill, and Jimmy). Well, a bit more information has surfaced, and more siblings have been added to the reunion, including sister Marie and brother Alan, who was diagnosed with MS a few years ago.

I have no idea about ticket availability, but the brothers (and sister) are scheduled to perform at the Orleans Hotel Showroom in Las Vegas on August 13 and 14. This could be your last chance to ever see them perform together, so you should at least buy a fake mustache and pretend your a janitor and try to sneak into the venue. Or, you can wait until next March when the concert will air on your local PBS station.

Will The State reunite? Quite possibly - VIDEO

The StateThomas Lennon, currently of the Comedy Central series Reno 911! and formerly of MTV's cult sketch series The State, was on the podcast Guys with Feelings recently to discuss all things Thomas Lennon. The podcast is a lot of fun, but to just hear the Tom Lennon portion, skip ahead to about 1 hour and 19 minutes.

Lennon talked about the upcoming ping-pong movie he wrote with Ben Garrant called Balls of Fury (trailer below), and about the fifth season of Reno 911! that just wrapped taping (also, he wishes his character, Jim Dangle, didn't have to wear those tiny shorts).

Sleeper Cell: Reunion (season finale)

Oded Fehr as Farik and Michael Ealy as Darwyn in 'Sleeper Cell.'

(S02E08) Well that certainly didn't disappoint. Definitely a fitting end to what I think was the best mini-series that aired this year. I think it's pretty lousy that Sleeper Cell wasn't nominated for best mini-series in this year's Golden Globes (it was last year), but at least Michael Ealy got a nod for best actor. Although I am a little torn because Andre Braugher was spectacular in Thief and I loved that show too. But I think Ealy may have the edge because this finale was just phenomenal in every sense of the word.

The Office: Branch Closing

Will Michael survive the corporate upheaval?(S03E07) I'm sure that many of us have either been laid-off from their jobs or know someone that has, so this episode surely hit home with quite a number of people.

As what took place with the British version of The Office, Jan tells Michael that corporate has decided to close the Scranton office and will transfer a few staffers to the Stamford branch. Someone once said to me that you never truly find out what a person is made of until you seem him/her deal with a crisis. Watching Michael go to extremes to save his employees (and himself) showed that despite his overbearing, obnoxious, pompous personality, he does have a soul, and you ended up rooting for him to save the day. Of course, it was all moot when we learned earlier that after Josh decided to move on to Staples, the Stamford branch would be closed and merged into Scranton.

Smallville: Reunion

Lex Luthor(S06E05) If this were Lost and not Smallville, they might call it a Lex-centric episode. Flashbacks to Oliver and Lex in billionaire-boy school, sounded all right to me -- Lex is one of my favorite characters. And surprise: it's Ollie who turns out to be the school's number one A-hole, maybe life a living hell for follically-impaired Luthor. Suffering, it turns out, doesn't really ennoble after all, and Lex is already spending his time plotting ways the cross his father later in life, and then betraying his only friend at school. Sounds like a great concept for an episode in theory, but I found the results mind-numbingly dull.

In one highlight, Lex turns out to have been a comic-book nerd, enabling the writers to slip-in a callback to last week's episode when Kal-El and Green Arrow tussled. Superheros often fight first, team-up later, as Lex explains to his friend.

Meanwhile, Clark decides to wear his blue t-shirt this week.
