I don't know how many people will miss TNT's
Raising The Bar. It was one of those shows that you never really heard people talking about - fans or critics - even though it had a pretty high-profile cast, including Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Jane Kaczmarek. The 2008 premiere actually grabbed over 7.7 million viewers, but that number dropped 50% for the second season premiere, so the writing was on the wall.
TNT has canceled the legal drama. There are still a few episodes that haven't aired yet and they will probably be shown sometime in early 2010.

Raising The Bar first started, my first reaction was, what the hell is going on with Mark-Paul Gosselar's hair? And now they went and actually made an episode about it, where he got it cut off (that's him with the new 'do above). I bet fans of the show hated the hair and wanted it gone.

Here are the new TV DVDs, in stores tomorrow.I started watching
The Fairly OddParents a few years ago and completely fell in love with it. I have a couple of the DVD sets, but I was never sure how the DVD sets were organized. Sometimes they're by a "theme" and sometimes they're by a season or volume. But now we have actual complete season sets for seasons one and two, and I'm really looking forward to having them. Funny, though, how no one can agree whether it's
Fairly OddParents or
Fairly Odd Parents. I see it spelled both ways everywhere.
I won't be buying the
Highlander: The Animated Series set though., There can be only one animated set to buy this week and I'm going with
OddParents.

TNT and
TBS have announced some new shows of their own. Some might say that these shows are even more promising than what the other networks have to offer this fall. In fact, one of them has me more excited than Richard Simmons in a tank top factory.

When the networks go into summer hibernation, it's time for the cable networks to come out and play. While they've been making inroads with fall and spring original programming, most cable networks stick to the summer frame where competition is light and they put up huge numbers that NBC would envy.
TNT added a few shows to achieve a three-night schedule of original programming this summer, bringing it closer and closer to full network programming levels. And TNT knows a thing or two about massive ratings hits.
They're coupling smash hit
The Closer at 9 PM ET with
Raising the Bar at 10 on Mondays starting June 8.
Bar launched huge and secured a renewal before everyone realized what a huge steaming pile of crap it was. So now it's got the cushiest timeslot on the network to try and win back all the viewers it pissed away. Let's hope they've improved the product and
