From March 14th to March 27th, The Paley Center for Media is presenting the twenty-fifth annual William S. Paley Television Festival. The Paley Center, formerly the Museum of Television and Radio, says that the festival celebrates "television's rich and diverse programming and the creative process behind the medium." This year the festival included
Chuck,
Pushing Daisies,
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer Reunion, Dirty Sexy Money among others.
I've already attended the
Buffy Reunion and
Dirty Sexy Money (click above for those reports). Last night I went to
The X-Files panel. For what happened during the event, read on past the jump.

Let's take this time to talk about one of the past mysteries on the show that has never been explained (yet, anyway): the four-toed statue that some of the islanders found in the season two finale. What the hell was that all about? What did it mean? How come no one has pointed a gun at Ben and asked him, "oh yeah, what the heck is that statue with the toes?" In some ways it's more mysterious and funky than the black smoke and Jacob.
Now Lost producer Damon Lindelof explains why we haven't seen the statue on the show since then.

Simon Cowell has never hidden his dislike for Taylor Hicks. And last week
he was at it again. He spoke out at this year's 24th Annual Paley Festival at the Directors Guild of America in West Hollywood, saying, "They (Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson) loved him. I couldn't stand him. I didn't get it."
Simon added, "at the end of the day you have to find a bona fide recording artist. Just because you win the show doesn't mean you will sell a lot of records. Chris (Daughtry) is the one who sold the albums, not Taylor." Hicks still
hasn't sold one million albums, and many critics doubt he will.
