Paul Attanasio,
House executive producer, has conjured up a legal drama for Fox. The network greenlighted a one-hour pilot,
Court K, which is set in Milwaukee and involves a judge, a prosecutor and a public defender. Just because it's set in Milwaukee, don't expect to see Laverne and Shirley.
Like
House is not your typical medical drama,
Court K will not be a typical lawyer show, not that
Boston Legal is typical, but you know what I mean.
Court K is reportedly a lot grittier, with sardonic, dark comic elements. We'll have to see if any of the principals are hooked on Vicodan. I wonder if it'll remind me of the movie
...And Justice For All, which was also a dark comic look at a Baltimore courthouse. But then, wasn't that
Night Court, too?

It looks like the
"Bronze the Fonz" campaign worked. The archetypical
Happy Days character
will be getting his own bronze statue in the city where the T.V. show was set.
This isn't the first time a television character has gotten a statue. I live near New York City and I walk past the
Ralph Kramden statue every time I take the bus. The cable channel TV Land has
arranged for a half-dozen statues to be placed across America. TV Land is co-sponsoring the Fonzie statue as well.

TV Land isn't making statues of their TV characters any longer (after everyone from Mary Richards to Dr. Bob Hartley were made into statues and put in various cities around the country), but that isn't stopping a group in Milwaukee from raising money to make a statue of The Fonz for their city. And they have the permission of Viacom to do it.
Vist Milwaukee and others have raised $57,000 of the $85,000 needed to make a statue of Arthur Fonzarelli for the city. Artist Gerald Sawyer says it's going to be one of the Fonz's classic poses, so I'm guessing he'll be standing and giving a "thumbs up" sign. (Please don't let it be of him in a leather jacket and swim trucks on water skis...). It won't be of him on a Triumph motorcycle as in the show, because Milwaukee is the home of Harley-Davidson!
The statue will be placed near the Chase Plaza office tower.

Now here's an odd little news item.
TV Land president Larry Jones says that a new TV show is in the works featuring former Laverne & Shirley stars Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams. The two would play themselves and live in Marshall's house, where the show would be filmed.
This could be ... interesting -- or an utter disaster. But it does bring up a fun question: what other former TV pals would you like to see in a reality show? How about Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore living together? How about Jerry Mathers and Tony Dow? Jack Klugman and Tony Randall would be great, but Randall passed away several years ago.
Readers? Maybe Suzanne Somers and Joyce DeWitt would be up for it.
